EPC Construction Manager
About this role
Job Summary:
If you thrive where complexity meets execution, this is your stage. As EPC Construction Manager at Centrus Energy, you’ll lead the field delivery of high-impact infrastructure projects at the American Centrifuge Plant in Piketon, Ohio. From modernizing legacy systems to building next-generation uranium enrichment facilities, you’ll operate in a highly regulated NRC environment where safety, precision, and performance drive every decision. With more than $1B in planned construction, you’ll guide teams, influence outcomes, and help shape the future of domestic nuclear energy.
What You Will Do:
You’ll lead a team of construction engineers and serve as the driving force behind field execution—translating complex designs into safe, efficient, and high-quality construction outcomes. Acting as the key interface between engineering, EPC leadership, and contractors, you’ll guide constructability reviews, oversee work package development, and ensure seamless execution from planning through commissioning. You’ll manage cost, schedule, and contractor performance, enforce compliance with strict regulatory and safety standards, and take ownership of field issue resolution, testing, and final turnover—while continuously improving performance through lessons learned and smarter build strategies.
We’d Love to Hear from People With:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil/Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, or related) or Construction Management from an accredited institution; equivalent experience considered
- 5+ years management experience preferred
- 5+ years in construction or field engineering for industrial facilities (nuclear, chemical process, oil & gas, or large manufacturing), including contractor oversight and multi-discipline field execution
- Hands-on experience with work package development, QA/QC inspections, and oversight of welding, mechanical, and electrical installations, along with startup and commissioning support
- Familiarity with RFIs, NCRs, test plans, as-built documentation, and configuration control practices
- Experience collaborating with EPC contractors and vendors, including progress tracking, change management, and field estimating
- Working knowledge of DOE or NRC environments or similarly regulated industries, with the ability to operate within strict licensing and procedural frameworks
- Practical application of NEC, NFPA 70E, OSHA, IEEE/NEMA standards, with a strong safety leadership record in high-hazard environments
- Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a “Q” level security clearance
A Successful Candidate Brings:
- An active “Q” or Top-Secret Clearance
