JOB DESCRIPTION:

SUMMARY OF POSITION

Provides support and stabilization services to clients in the Walk-in Center and Crisis Stabilization Unit. Provides peer and crisis support services, information, education and support for clients. Promotes wellness, recovery and skill building through group and individual interventions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides training and interventions in both group and individual settings, focusing on the improvement of the client’s functioning and health-related issues.
  • Obtains vital signs and reports results to nursing.
  • Completes 15-minute safety checks.
  • Provides assistance, supervision and interaction to client throughout work shift.
  • Inventories, documents and secures client belongings.
  • Ability to de-escalate clients using evidence-based de-escalation training, ie. Therapeutic Options, to include safety holds, as necessary.
  • Use of basic technology, such as data entry and documentation of vital signs and shift notes.
  • Obtains CPR, First Aid, and AED training to provide assistance to clients as needed.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Effectively communicate via written, verbal, in person and virtual methods.
  • Knowledge of community resources.
  • Basic computer skills
  • Skill in crisis intervention (preferred)

QUALIFICATIONS

Education Level

High School diploma or equivalent; Certified peer recovery specialist preferred

Years of Experience

One year of relevant job experience required, preferably in mental related field. Education/experience equivalency may be considered upon approval.
