Program: Big Brothers Big Sisters of Hampshire County (a program of CHD)

Location: Hadley, MA (In-person with site visits across Hampshire County)

Pay Rate: $20.00 / hour (Includes benefits package)

Schedule: 30 hours / week, Monday – Friday (Occasional evenings/weekends as needed)

At the Center for Human Development (CHD), Care Finds a Way. Since 1975, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Hampshire County has been creating life-changing, one-to-one mentoring relationships between adult volunteers ("Bigs") and youth ("Littles").

We are seeking a dynamic, community-minded Case Manager to join our team in Hadley, MA. In this role, you will recruit, screen, match, and support volunteer mentors and local youth, helping us spark the power and promise of young people in our community.

The Opportunity: Connect, Mentor, and Inspire

As a Case Manager, you will oversee a caseload of mentoring matches, ensuring that children, families, and mentors receive the guidance, safety checks, and resources they need for a successful, long-lasting connection.

Key Responsibilities:

Recruitment & Screening: Interview, screen, and train volunteer mentors; conduct child and family assessments to determine eligibility and optimal match compatibility.

Match Supervision & Support: Maintain regular communication with Bigs, Littles, and caregivers to provide ongoing guidance, documentation, and referral support.

School & Site-Based Coordination: Partner with area schools for student referrals and coordinate our site-based Lunch Buddies program in Northampton and Amherst.

Event Planning & Collaboration: Work alongside the case management team to organize fun, program-sponsored events for matches and families.

Requirements:

Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in a related field (or equivalent experience) paired with prior experience working with children and families.

Language Preference: Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) are highly preferred.

Technical & Administrative Skills: Strong verbal/written communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office and client databases.

Logistics: Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and access to a personal vehicle for local travel. Must pass background record screenings.

Physical Ability: Capability to lift/move items up to 30 lbs and navigate community sites.
