Position Introduction:

The University of Oklahoma is seeking a dependable and motivated Student Office Assistant to provide administrative support while gaining valuable professional experience in a collaborative office environment. This position offers an excellent opportunity for students to develop organizational, customer service, and workplace communication skills.

Responsibilities: 

  • Perform data entry and maintain office records
  • Answer phone calls, take messages, and direct inquiries
  • Operate office equipment, including computers, copiers, and scanners
  • Open, sort, and prepare incoming and outgoing mail
  • Make copies and assist with document preparation
  • Maintain filing systems and organize records
  • Coordinate appointments, meetings, and small office events
  • Assist with communication and coordination between departments
  • Type correspondence, reports, and other documents
  • Run occasional campus errands and provide general office support
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Education and Experience: 

  • Must be enrolled in the term as a student at the University of Oklahoma.
  • Hiring contingent upon verification of current student status.
  • Performing data entry
  • Operating standard office machines – computers, copiers, scanners, etc.
  • Answering phone calls and routing or taking messages
  • Running errands
  • Opening, routing and preparing incoming and outgoing mail
  • Making copies
  • Maintaining filing systems and records
  • Coordinating/scheduling small office events
  • Coordinating appointments and meetings
  • Coordinating with other departments
  • Typing documents, reports and correspondence
  • Performing other related duties as assigned
  • Ability to perform basic math functions; basic computer skills
  • Basic functions in Microsoft products

  • Currently enrolled as a student at the University of Oklahoma
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and maintain confidentiality
