Position Introduction:

The University of Oklahoma is seeking a Storm Water Technician to support the maintenance, operation, and repair of utility infrastructure and related systems that help ensure safe and efficient campus operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs to ensure equipment and systems are operating safely and effectively.
  • Assist with the repair, installation, and troubleshooting of water, sewer, storm water, and natural gas distribution and collection systems.
  • Support Utility Maintenance Mechanics (UMMs) with assembly, modification, troubleshooting, and repairs of mechanical equipment and systems.
  • Assist with cooling tower operations and monitor chiller conditions by taking readings and checking oil levels.
  • Troubleshoot basic electrical panels, pumps, valves, piping systems, and related utility equipment.
  • Operate air compressors, air dryers, air tanks, filters, and blow-down valves under the direction of a UMM.
  • Read and record gas, electric, and water meter data as needed.
  • Assist with ordering supplies, materials, and replacement parts.
  • Utilize hand and power tools to complete assigned maintenance and repair tasks.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental and university operations.

  • High School diploma or GED.

Required Certifications and Licenses:

  • Valid Driver's License.
