The University of Oklahoma Information Technology is seeking a Systems Support Administrator to serve as a dedicated technology resource for the Price College of Business. This position is embedded within the college and provides a combination of systems administration, device support, endpoint management, customer consulting, and technology project coordination.

As part of the OU IT Mission Support organization, the Systems Support Administrator works closely with faculty, staff, researchers, and administrative units to ensure reliable, secure, and effective technology services. The position serves as a primary technical resource for server infrastructure, business-critical applications, endpoint management, user access management, and specialized technology initiatives within the college.

The successful candidate will combine strong technical skills with excellent customer service and communication abilities. This individual will collaborate with other OU IT professionals while maintaining a deep understanding of the unique technology needs of the Price College of Business. The position also provides leadership and guidance to student IT technicians and participates in technology planning, implementation, and continuous improvement efforts that support the college's academic, research, and administrative missions.

Required Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • 4 years of customer service, help desk, or device/software support experience

Department Preferences:

  • Experience supporting higher education environments, particularly faculty, staff, researchers, and instructional spaces.
  • Experience administering Windows and/or Linux servers in physical and virtualized environments.
  • Experience with endpoint management platforms, software deployment, device imaging, inventory management, and lifecycle management.
  • Experience with Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Entra ID (Azure AD), Group Policy, identity management, and access control administration.
  • Experience supporting enterprise applications, databases, file services, and business-critical systems.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices, vulnerability remediation, system patching, backup strategies, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Experience troubleshooting networking issues, including DNS, DHCP, wired and wireless connectivity, network registration, and firewall-related issues.
  • Experience managing technology projects, coordinating vendors, and documenting technical solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze business processes and recommend technology solutions that improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Experience mentoring, supervising, or coordinating the work of student employees or technical support staff.
  • Experience supporting classroom, laboratory, audiovisual, or instructional technology environments.
  • Strong customer service orientation with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Experience working collaboratively across multiple technical teams and organizational units.
  • Relevant industry certifications such as Microsoft, VMware, CompTIA, Cisco, ITIL, or similar credentials.
