Position Introduction: Under the direction of the Lab Director, Lab Assistants will perform tasks integral to the processing and management of archaeological collections generated by Survey projects. The primary duties of Lab Assistants include washing and sorting artifacts, processing floatation, cataloging collections, preparing collections for accession, and the analysis of artifacts as needed. Lab Assistants may also be assigned other duties in addition to or instead of these primary tasks. These include, but are not limited to, water screening, preservation efforts, assisting with paperwork and/or database management, cleaning, and other survey-related duties and activities. All Lab Assistants will be provided with the training necessary to enable them to perform these tasks as they arise. |
