About this role
The LVN supports the physician and nursing staff in the delivery of health care by performing patient care assessments, and a variety of medically related tasks. The LVN is a licensed nurse who works in an ambulatory care setting to perform and provide nursing services within the scope of practice.

Responsibilities
- Sets up exam room/procedure rooms appropriately based on patient visit needs
- Performs initial nursing intake and prepares patients for examination.
- Prepares patients for examination by reviewing current medications and reviewing documents in medical record.
- Prepares medical chart and records patient information needed to support the reason for visit such as vital signs and reason for visit.
- Administers prescribed medications, injections, or IV medications using best practice and as directed by provider.
- Provides basic patient care and treatments such as taking vitals, performing diagnostic tests, phlebotomy, and specimen collection directed by the provider.
- Observes patient, documents, and reports any changes in condition to the provider for instructions in taking necessary actions for care.
- Evaluates nursing intervention outcomes within the LVN scope of practice.
- Maintains patient care flow.
- Answers patient and physician incoming messages with provider input.
- Serves as a patient advocate and utilizes appropriate resources to support patient care.
- Provides review of MA skills and performance abilities using designated evaluation tools.
- Performs quality assurance and quality control measures to maintain compliance in the clinical environment.
- Assists as a chaperone when needed upon completion of the required Chaperone Training.

Qualifications
Education- Vocational/Technical Diploma CA LVN License - minimum
- Vocational/Technical Diploma Graduate of an accredited X-Ray Program - preferred
Experience
- No experience required - minimum
- 1 year LVN experience - preferred
Licenses and Certifications
- Licensed Vocational Nurse - Upon Hire minimum Current CA LVN License
- Intravenous/Blood Withdrawal Certification - 1 Year minimum CA Board of Vocational Nursing IV/BW (intravenous/blood withdrawal) certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - Upon Hire minimum
