About this role

Job Description:

Role Overview

The Senior Manager, Marketing Automation owns the strategy, execution, and governance of the company's marketing automation and lifecycle email programs. This role is the subject-matter expert on Salesforce Marketing Cloud Account Engagement (Pardot) and is the platform owner for CVENT, responsible for overseeing marketing nurture infrastructure, email program strategy, event-to-marketing data integration, and compliance governance across a regulated, multi-audience environment. The ideal candidate combines hands-on platform expertise with strong cross functional partnership skills and exceptional judgement to lead a highly operational team within a complex global organization.

Your responsibilities will be:

Marketing Automation Strategy — Own the strategy, roadmap, and governance for Cboe's marketing automation ecosystem, with Pardot as the primary platform of record for lead lifecycle, nurture, and email execution. Email Program Ownership — Plan, build, and optimize email marketing programs — newsletters, product announcements, nurture tracks, transactional and triggered sends — ensuring deliverability, segmentation rigor, and brand/voice consistency across business lines. Cvent & Events Integration — Serve as platform owner for Cvent, overseeing event registration workflows, platform integrations as applicable, and the connective tissue between event data and marketing automation nurture streams. Data & Systems Integration — Ensure clean handoffs and bidirectional data integrity between Pardot, Cvent, Salesforce CRM, and the company's CDP/analytics stack; partner with marketing/web analytics and IT on integration architecture. Segmentation & Personalization — Build and enforce segmentation strategies, audience suppression logic, and personalization rules appropriate for a regulated, multi-audience environment (individual investors, institutional clients, media, partners). Compliance & Governance — Ensure all automation and email practices meet CAN-SPAM, CASL, GDPR, and relevant financial services compliance requirements; maintain audit-ready documentation and preference center governance. Measurement & Reporting — Define and report on funnel, engagement, and revenue-influence metrics (open/click/conversion, MQL-to-SQL conversion, program ROI); translate performance into executive-ready narratives for EVP/C-suite stakeholders. Vendor & Agency Management — Manage relationships with automation/ platform vendors (Salesforce/Pardot, Cvent); evaluate new capabilities, plug-ins, and platform upgrades. Team Leadership & Enablement — Build scalable templates, playbooks, and governance models that other marketing team members and business-line stakeholders can self-serve against; mentor and, as the team grows, manage marketing automation coordinators/specialists.

The ideal candidate has

Experience — 7+ years of progressive experience in marketing automation and email marketing, including at least 3 years of hands-on Pardot (Salesforce Marketing Cloud Account Engagement) administration. Cvent Expertise — Direct experience owning or heavily using Cvent for event and webinar management, including integration with a marketing automation platform. Certifications — Pardot/Salesforce certification (e.g., Pardot Specialist or Consultant) strongly preferred; Cvent certification a plus. Industry Background — Demonstrated experience in financial services, exchanges, fintech, or another regulated industry with complex, multi-audience marketing requirements. Cross-Functional Fluency — Proven ability to partner cross-functionally with sales, CRM administrators, content strategy, web/analytics, compliance, and legal teams. Executive Presence — Comfort presenting program performance and strategic recommendations to senior leadership, including EVP and C-suite audiences. Technical Proficiency — Strong expertise in marketing automation, including audience segmentation, lead scoring and grading, persona alignment, lifecycle automation, and campaign optimization. Proficient in HTML/CSS, email deliverability, and A/B testing. Experience leveraging AI and integrated marketing technologies to enhance personalization, efficiency, and scalability. Education — Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
