Role Overview

The Director, Performance Marketing will lead Cboe’s paid media strategy and demand generation across our core lines of businesses. This role owns the paid media engine that builds awareness, generates qualified engagement, and accelerates pipeline for Cboe’s product lines. You will lead full-funnel media strategy, partnering closely with sales, product marketing, and regional teams to translate media investment into measurable commercial impact.

Your responsibilities will be:

Paid Media Strategy & Ownership

  • Own the paid media strategy, budget allocation, and channel mix across search, paid social, programmatic, and emerging platforms for Cboe’s core business lines
  • Set and defend the paid media budget with senior leadership, including scenario planning and tiered spend recommendations by business line
  • Own the paid media agency relationship end-to-end — scope, performance targets, creative and media plan approval, and spend accountability
  • Build and prioritize a paid testing roadmap spanning channels, audiences, offers, and creative formats

Growth Strategy & Planning

  • Define the broader growth marketing strategy across acquisition, activation, and expansion, with paid as the primary lever and lifecycle/owned channels as reinforcement
  • Partner with Business Line leaders to translate commercial priorities into paid media and growth objectives and KPIs

Full-Funnel Program Ownership

  • Ensure paid campaigns are backed by strong conversion paths, working closely with Performance Marketing Analytics to instrument tracking, attribution, and message match across landing experiences
  • Extend paid programs into lifecycle and retention marketing in partnership with the Marketing Automation & Email team (Pardot/Cvent) Cross-Functional Leadership Serve as the connective tissue between Performance Marketing, Content Strategy, Web/CMS, and Sales to ensure paid investment is coordinated end-to-end
  • Represent paid media and growth performance in executive and all-hands settings, translating spend and results into clear business narratives
  • Manage relationships with paid media and growth-focused agencies and vendors, including scope, budget, and performance accountability

Team & Org Building

  • Build and manage a growth marketing team

Measurement & Optimization

  • Establish growth marketing dashboards and reporting cadences in partnership with analytics lead, with clear visibility into CAC, conversion rates, pipeline contribution, and ROI.
  • Continuously test and optimize campaigns using a rigorous, hypothesis-driven approach

The ideal candidate has:

  • 10+ years of marketing experience with at least 5 years focused on paid media / performance marketing, including 3+ years in a leadership role
  • Deep expertise across B2B paid channels – paid search, programmatic, LinkedIn, and financial / trade publications – with hands-on fluency in platform capabilities, bidding strategies, and creative best practices
  • Experience planning and executing brand media campaigns, including out-of-home (traditional and digital OOH), with an understanding of brand measurement approaches
  • Proven ability to build integrated brand and demand programs and demonstrate media’s influence on pipeline in complex, long-cycle B2B env
  • Experience marketing to institutional financial audiences; experience marketing to retail customers a plus
  • Strong analytical skills – comfort with attribution models and media mix modeling concepts
  • Experience managing media budgets and holding agencies accountable to performance targets
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or relevant advanced degree a plus

Salary Ranges (applicable for US locations only)

At Cboe, we are committed to providing a competitive, transparent, and market‑informed total rewards program. The anticipated base salary range for this role is $187,000-$242,000, with actual compensation determined by job‑related factors such as skills, relevant experience, education, internal alignment, and location.

This role may also be eligible for annual incentive compensation and, where applicable, participation in Cboe's long-term equity programs.
