Parish Administrative Assistant - St. Ignatius Church - Chapel Point Maryland
About this role
St. Ignatius Church – Chapel Point is seeking a part-time Administrative Assistant, to serve as the first point of contact for our parish and visitors. This person will report directly to the Business Manager and will perform general secretarial support to include: typing, establishing/maintaining database for parish and data input, maintaining the office calendar, creating the weekly parish bulletin, recording sacraments and sacramental document preparation, scheduling meetings and events, serving as the VIRTUS/Child Protection coordinator for volunteers in the parish; as well as other duties.
The ideal candidate should be proficient in MS Office, Excel and Outlook, have the ability to update parish social media and the parish website. They will also have the ability to support parishioners with clarity, compassion, and discretion. Confidentiality is crucial.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a part time -10 hour per week position. Pay rate is $17 per hour
The hours are: Tuesday 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Wednesday 9:00 a.m. – 1 p.m. and Thursday 9:00 a.m. – 11 a.m.
Required Education and Experience
Must be a practicing Catholic, High School diploma required, 3 to 5 years’ administrative experience required.
