Role Definition:
Leading engineering support for manufacturing of Large Power Systems Products (Reciprocating Engines & Gensets) to ensure effective Built in Quality and rapid resolution of technical issues related to Engine / Genset design, build and testing.
Responsibilities:
- Lead engineering support for operations team during introduction and regular production of large power engines and gensets
- Provide rapid engineering response to resolve shop floor issues related to engine and package assembly, hot testing, controls integration, electrical systems and Built in Quality concerns.
- Serve as technical focal point for Built in Quality engineering issue resolution and communication. Document and review issues with appropriate stakeholders, work with cross functional teams to implement Interim and Permanent Corrective Actions (ICA/PCA)
- Lead cross functional teams to resolve factory build and testing issues with high velocity, drive accountability for actions and ensure alignment on technical decisions
- Work with L3 design controls, L5 / package, L4 / platform, validation, manufacturing, quality and supply chain teams to resolve / approve required deviations, PCNs, design improvements and engineering change requests
- Provide technical leadership during engine and genset build events, troubleshooting activities, factory readiness reviews and issue escalation forums
- Lead stakeholder engagement and communication with global teams
- Participate in the design processes in a manner to ensure products provide superior performance, durability, quality, manufacturability and serviceability
- Support New Product Introduction and current product issue resolution processes, including manufacturing readiness for new package and engine configurations
- Mentor and coach engineers in troubleshooting methodologies, root cause analysis, manufacturing support processes and engineering best practices
- Assist in preparing proposals, cost estimates and technical reports
- Understanding and adhering to project schedule. Prepare and execute project plan for own deliverables to meet NPI timeline.
- Support CQMS, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 documentation and audits. Be available outside of normal business hours to collaborate with global teams
- Requires a degree in an accredited Mechanical / Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent, experience working in Power Systems (Reciprocating Engines / Genset) Product Development / Factory Support
- Requires knowledge of assembly processes related to engines and gensets, and issue resolution within manufacturing operations
- Requires working knowledge of ProE, Teamcenter, and other design / BOM management tools, New Product Introduction process
- Requires knowledge of engineering documents like FMEA, DVP, DFM and different tools used in Root cause analysis.
- Requires knowledge of GD&T, Tolerance Stack-up and APQP process.
- Requires proficient communication, collaboration and technical leadership skills with demonstrated ability to lead cross functional teams and influence without direct authority
Degree Requirement: Degree required / Preferred to have a Bachelor’s in Engineering for a Tier 1 College or University

- Collaborates with validation and manufacturing teams to support issue closure.
- Uses testing data to support technical decision making.
- Identifies documentation and evidence required during the testing and issue resolution process.
Managing Multiple Priorities: Knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.
