Summary of Performance Expectations:
Performs a wide variety of clinical and/or administrative duties to medical office outpatients of Fairgrove Primary Health and Catawba Valley Infectious Disease Consultants under the direct supervision of a licensed physician, licensed advanced practice provider, or manager. Utilizes a team based approach to all tasks.
Education and Credentials:
Required:
Graduate of an accredited program for Medical Assisting and/or certification as a Medical Assistant or completion of a Paramedic degree or certification program. BCLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required within three months of employment date.
Preferred:
Knowledge and a clear understanding of basic ICD and CPT codes.
Work Experience:
Required:
No experience required. Given training and on-the job experience, incumbent should be proficient in basic aspects of job within three months of employment date.
Preferred:
Five or more years of working experience in a medical office as a medical assistant performing clinical duties.
