Cleaning Assistant
About this role
Lakeland Veterinary Hospital is hiring a Part-Time Cleaning Assistant to help keep our hospital clean, safe, and welcoming for the pets and clients we serve. This role is a great fit for a high school student (16+) or a retired individual looking for a flexible part-time schedule.

Salary: $13 - $14 per hour, determined by the candidate's skills, experience, and qualifications.
Schedule: This is a part-time position with flexible shift options:
- Sunday–Thursday, 5:00pm–7:00pm (standard schedule), or
- Monday–Friday, 5:00pm–7:00pm
- We're also open to 6:00pm–8:00pm or 5:00am–7:00am shifts
Our goal is to have floors and garbage areas clean by 7:15am, Monday through Friday.
Key Responsibilities
- Sweep, mop, and empty garbage daily throughout the hospital
- Follow a rotating schedule for cleaning bathrooms and the breakroom
- Maintain a consistently clean, sanitary, and organized facility
Growth Opportunity
For the right fit, there's an opportunity to cross-train into our kennel department. Several of our current kennel staff are cross-trained and pick up cleaning shifts as needed — a great way to build additional hours and experience.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 16 years old
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Passion for animals is a plus, especially if interested in cross-training into kennel care
