By tailoring nursing, social services, and therapeutic everyday activities our clients and residents are able to define what ‘living well’ means to them. Our House a program apart of CAP Northwest is excited to announce that we are hiring skilled and team-oriented Caregiver. This position is responsible for working within the framework of the interdisciplinary team approach to provide residents with providing Activities of Daily Living as directed by the Service plan and the licensed nurse in charge of the floor. This includes assisting with dietary and environmental needs as needed.
This is a Part-time 0.7 FTE role working at Our House location in SE Portland. The schedule for this role is Thursday-Saturday 2:30pm- 11:00pm and every other Wednesday 2:30pm-11:00pm
Starting pay is $23.17 an hour plus differential pay of $1.00 and hour for Evening Shift. The Caregiver’s Pay increases with tenure and the top of the pay scale is $27.16. This is a union represented position, so the compensation, benefits and conditions of work are collectively bargained.
Who You Are
Ability to pass DHS background check. (Potential Disqualifying Conviction List)
High school diploma or GED
One year of experience providing home care/caregiving or satisfactory completion of onsite training at Our House.
Frist Aid, CPR and Food handlers certified within first 30 days of hire.
Basic computer skills
Motivation to work with persons with HIV/AIDS who require all levels of care.
What You’ll Do
Responsible for resident ADL's as directed by the service plan and Licensed nurse on duty
Maintains accurate records of ADL's provided or omitted in each resident’s electronic record.
Provides direct resident care while promoting the resident’s dignity, independence, and choice.
Attends all staff meetings and in-services. All staff must complete 12 in-service hours per year.
Maintains a neat, clean facility, including common living spaces as well as individual resident areas.
Interacts with residents, staff, volunteers, and visitors in ways that reflect the values of the Our House workplace mission statement.
