Role Overview

You'll join Capi's first-line FinCrime Operations team, reporting to the FinCrime Manager. Day to day, that means supporting onboarding reviews (KYB), transaction monitoring case handling, and invoice approval checks — helping keep our queues moving to SLA while building toward more ownership over time.

This is a hands-on entry point into fincrime/compliance operations — ideal for someone early in their career who wants to build a strong foundation in KYB, transaction monitoring, and financial crime operations at a fast-growing cross-border payments business.

Customer Onboarding & KYB

  • Support KYC/KYB reviews for new business onboarding, preparing clear recommendations for senior team members

  • Help process Requests for Information (RFIs) and follow up with clients/Sales to keep cases moving

  • Flag high-risk or ambiguous cases (complex ownership structures, PEPs, high-risk jurisdictions) to senior team members for escalation

  • Help maintain onboarding documentation and data accuracy across our internal ops platform, KYB vendor tooling, and Notion

  • Spot repetitive or manual steps in the KYB review process (e.g. document checks, RFI follow-ups) and work with senior team members to design and roll out AI-assisted ways to handle them

Transaction Monitoring

  • Review flagged transactions and screening alerts against defined SLAs

  • Follow up with customers and internal teams to gather the information needed to clear cases

  • Document case decisions clearly and escalate unusual patterns or potential typologies to senior team members

  • Identify recurring patterns in alert triage or case documentation that AI could speed up, and partner with senior team members to test and implement those improvements

Invoice Approval

  • Review submitted invoices against Capi's invoice approval guidelines

  • Flag inconsistencies or higher-risk invoices for senior review

  • Help keep the invoice approval queue moving to SLA

  • Flag rules-based or repetitive checks in the invoice review process that AI could take on, and partner with senior team members to implement

What We're Looking For:

Experience

  • 1–3 years' experience in compliance, KYB/onboarding, transaction monitoring, or a related ops role (fintech, payments, or banking background a plus)

  • Exposure to African markets is a strong advantage

Skills

  • Sharp attention to detail — you catch things others miss

  • Clear communicator, written and verbal

  • Comfortable using data and tools to make decisions, not just gut feel

  • A natural AI user — you default to finding smarter, faster ways to work

  • Fluent in French and English

Why Capi?

  • Grow fast: hands-on coaching from the FinCrime Manager and wider Ops team, with a clear path to more ownership as you develop

  • FinCrime ops as an enabler: we believe getting this right should accelerate the business, not slow it down

  • International team: ambitious, data-driven, and values people who speak up
