Overview

Under general supervision the Electrical Technician I is responsible for electrical troubleshooting and diagnostics. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Installs and replaces lightbulbs
  • Perform breaker resets, ballast and electrical wiring
  • Inspects and maintains primary service installations and power distribution systems
  • Follows basic electrical safety practices such as lockout/tagout procedure
  • Completes work orders and paperwork related to job tasks
  • Performs duties in accordance with departmental and regulatory safety procedures and standards

Qualifications

  • HS Diploma or equivlant, Journeyman Elctrician certification is highly preferred
  • Knowledge of predictive and preventative electrical maintenance functions
  • Knowledge of electrical machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
  • Proficient computer skills are required. AutoCAD experience a plus
  • 0-5 years experience performing basic electrical repair and installation 
  • Ability to properly use of hand and power tools
  • Ability to perform electrical troubleshooting, install lighting
  • Ability to prepare, install nd connect electrical wiring

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to climb and maintain balance on ladders and scaffolding
  • Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or work at heights as required
  • Must be able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds and occasionally more
