About the role
Join the Business Solutions Engineering team, in the Associate Scrum Master position. You will help facilitate team-level Scrum ceremonies, promote Agile practices, support collaboration, delivery focus, and continuous improvement within initiatives that will allow you to grow with the team. In this role, you will help identify and track impediments, monitor team-level performance indicators, and escalate more complex situations to a Senior Scrum Master, or Agile Coach as needed.
This is a temporary position of a duration of 12 months.
What you'll do:
- Facilitate team ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, ensuring objectives are clear and outcomes are documented.
- Promote open communication, collaboration, knowledge sharing, and active participation among team members during Agile ceremonies.
- Identify, track, and follow up on impediments affecting team-level delivery; help resolve blockers and coordinate with stakeholders where appropriate.
- Escalate complex, cross-team, or higher-risk impediments to a Senior Scrum Master, or Agile Coach for support and resolution.
- Monitor and collect team-level KPIs such as velocity, cycle time, and burndown charts, and prepare concise summaries for team discussion.
- Use KPI trends and team feedback to identify improvement opportunities and support continuous improvement at the team level.
- Maintain documentation of Scrum processes, team agreements, project artifacts, Agile resources, templates, and lessons learned in accessible repositories.
- Provide onboarding support for new team members by sharing Agile practices, team processes, and available resources.
What you should have:
- An undergraduate degree in a related field such as Computer Science, Business, Finance, Commerce, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience practicing Agile with Scrum and/or Kanban in IT solutions delivery.
- A Certification in Scrum methodologies, such as Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) from Scrum Alliance or Professional Scrum Master I (PSM I).
- A solid understanding of Scrum ceremonies, including Daily Stand-up, Sprint Planning, Sprint Review, and Retrospective, and their objectives.
- Working knowledge of Agile principles, practices, and frameworks, including Scrum and Kanban, with the ability to apply them in stable, single-team delivery environments.
- Familiarity with team-level KPIs such as velocity, cycle time, and burndown, including the ability to perform initial analysis, identify trends, and share insights.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to foster collaboration, trust, and effective team engagement.
- An adaptability to evolving priorities and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.
It would be great if you also had :
- A Certification as a Disciplined Agile Scrum Master (DASM) from the Project Management Institute (PMI).
- A Certification as an ICAgile Certified Professional (ICP) from ICAgile.
- A Certification as a PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) from PMI.
- Practical experience with backlog management or Agile metrics tools such as Azure DevOps.
