Digital Production Operations Engineer

Digital Production Operations Engineer (DPOE) is responsible for operational activities related to production performance of a field (or sector). This includes surveillance of wells and hydrocarbon collection infrastructure, optimization engineering (de-bottlenecking, modifications for performance enhancements) and technical input to work programs for proposed modifications / introduction of new technologies. The DPOE will be expected to assess opportunities for digitally enabled innovative solutions to routine and non-routine well & asset production issues. The role will consult with operations’ groups and Petroleum Engineering as needed to support the solutions delivery and with the technology / portfolio teams as needed to support the development of relevant solutions. The DPOE engineer will frequently act as the Schlumberger Digital-Operations-Solutions-Production representative to the customer and participates in promoting new technology and service offerings. The role will be required to work closely with the Project Manager and to liaise with third parties and other Schlumberger business lines to coordinate resources and activities. The role also requires frequent visits to the field. Finally, the DPOE will be expected to have technical oversight responsibilities for multiple projects in the production domain.

• Production Optimization & Enhancement
• Reviews Well / Field performances with the advice of Reservoir Engineering and G&G.
• Evaluates the performance of the existing systems and makes recommendations for improvements.
• Provides details for digitally enabled solutions for optimization & enhancement.
• Provides advice to Operations on troubleshooting and proposes ways of de-bottlenecking in production.
• Defines the solution life cycle.
• Coordinates & prepares the conceptual and detailed solution Basis of Designs
• Responsible for deployment and QA of digital solutions and production enhancing workflows.
• Responsible for maintenance of digital solutions deployed for production support and enhancement.
• Analyzes and defines the cause of production failures and generates candidates for enhancement.
• Acts as a focal point for Production Engineering input to projects in general.
• Provides an assessment of safety and environmental impact for all recommendations.
• Analyze efficiency of solution deployment from proof points to scale up.
• Interaction with the G&G, Reservoir, Well Construction and Operations functions.
• Technology & Knowledge Management
• Identifies opportunities to develop and use new technologies to enhance production & optimize operations.
• Maintains awareness of Production technology related developments across all product Lines, including R & E centers.
• Manages the dissemination of relevant Production Technology related information through Intouch.
• Maintains an industry watch for third party and competitor developments in digital solutions for Production.
• Identifies areas justifying R & D investment and communicates to the relevant portfolio managers.
• QHSE
• Promotes the application of Schlumberger quality and safety standards.
• Ensures application of SLB QHSE Management System through his/her work.
• Participates in SLB & Project Internal Audits.
