Job Summary
Candidate will perform daily functions to review capital expense invoices to ensure proper application of Camden capitalization policy as well as Identify opportunities to enhance capitalization procedures. Candidate will assist in functions to process construction draws to facilitate payments to construction vendors. Assist in compilation of reports for facilities and operations.
Essential Functions
- Serve as the primary accounting resource and subject matter expert for Capital Expenditures (CapEx).
- Review and evaluate invoices to ensure proper accounting treatment and compliance with company capitalization policies.
- Prepare general ledger entries as part of month-end financial close processes including accruals and reclassifications.
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities, including account reconciliations, financial analysis, and close-related processes.
- Reconcile fixed asset subledger balances to the general ledger and investigate and resolve discrepancies.
- Analyze depreciation trends and maintain the accuracy of fixed asset records.
- Review, investigate, and resolve accounting issues for capital-related transactions.
- Partner with Operations, Procurement, Project Management, and other cross-functional teams to ensure the proper accounting treatment of capital expenditures.
- Utilize Oracle ERP to manage, analyze, and maintain fixed asset and capital expenditure accounting.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, strengthen internal controls, and enhance operational efficiency
- Assist Senior with project entries and project reports
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent
- Must have at least one year of experience in Accounting
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Accounting systems experience

- May require airline travel, out-of-town and /or overnight trips
- Attendance and punctuality is essential for success in this position
- Hazards can be minimized with proper lifting techniques, SDS, general safety training, and wearing appropriate PPE
