About this role
The Wilder Institute Ghana team is seeking a fixed term, full time Results-Based Management Officer who will provide the day‑to‑day coordination, implementation, and quality assurance of Results‑Based Management (RBM), Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) systems for a multi‑year, Global Affairs Canada (GAC)–funded project focused on biodiversity conservation, gender equality, and sustainable livelihoods in Ghana.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Conservation Programs, the RBM Officer ensures that project implementation, monitoring, and reporting are aligned with GAC’s RBM requirements, the approved Logic Model and Performance Measurement Framework (PMF), and the Feminist International Assistance Policy (FIAP). The role works closely with project partners and site‑level teams across both project sites to support indicator tracking, data collection, analysis, and evidence‑based reporting and learning.

What you will do:
RBM and MEAL Implementation
- Lead implementation of the project’s RBM and MEAL systems in line with GAC requirements.
- Operationalize and maintain the approved Logic Model and Performance Measurement Framework (PMF).
- Ensure consistent tracking of outputs and outcomes across ecological, livelihoods, gender equality, and governance indicators.
- Support integration of RBM principles into annual work plans and activity monitoring.
Performance Measurement and Indicator Tracking
- Responsible for the day to day coordination, implementation, and quality assurance of RBM and MEAL systems.
- Provide guidance and training to partners on indicator definitions, data sources, targets, and collection methodologies.
- Ensure timely, accurate, and consistent data collection across sites and partners.
- Validate and compile partner reported data to ensure quality, completeness, and compliance with GAC standards.
Data Management, Analysis, and Learning
- Manage project databases and data management systems related to RBM and MEAL.
- In collaboration with Project Lead, Program Managers, project partners, and Wilder Institute conservation analysis team, analyze quantitative and qualitative data to assess progress toward planned results.
- Generate evidence to inform adaptive management, decision making, and risk mitigation.
- Support documentation of lessons learned, best practices, and emerging outcomes across project sites.
Donor Reporting (Global Affairs Canada)
- Draft and contribute to GAC reporting, including:
- Annual Results Reports
- Performance and outcome narratives
- Indicator tables and supporting evidence
- Ensure reporting focuses on results and outcomes, not only activities.
- Support the Project Lead in responding to GAC information requests, feedback, and audits related to performance and results.
Partner Capacity Strengthening
- Build RBM and MEAL capacity of local partners, field staff, and site level managers through coaching, guidance, and training.
- Support partners to understand and apply GAC RBM concepts, including outcomes, indicators, assumptions, and risks.
- Promote consistent RBM practices across both project sites and partner organizations.
Gender Equality, FIAP, and Inclusive Data
- Support tracking and analysis of gender equality and FIAP related indicators in the PMF.
- Ensure collection and analysis of sex , age , and diversity disaggregated data where required.
- Contribute to evidence generation on gender equality, women’s empowerment, and inclusive outcomes.
Risk Management and Adaptive Management
- Support monitoring of risks and assumptions linked to the Logic Model and PMF.
- Flag performance risks, delays, or data gaps to the Project Lead.
- Contribute to adaptive management processes by providing evidence to inform course corrections.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
What you will bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in international development, statistics, economics, environmental science, social sciences, or a related field
- Master’s degree in monitoring and evaluation, international development, data analytics, or a related discipline is an asset.
- Minimum of 4–6 years of professional experience in Results-Based Management (RBM), Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E), or MEAL in international development contexts
- Demonstrated experience developing and implementing Performance Measurement Frameworks (PMFs), indicators, and data collection systems
- Strong experience in quantitative and qualitative data collection, validation, analysis, and reporting
- Experience supporting donor reporting processes, preferably for Global Affairs Canada or similar institutional donors
- Experience working collaboratively with multiple partners and across project sites in multicultural environments
- Familiarity with gender equality, FIAP, and inclusive data practices is an asset
- Experience in conservation, natural resource management, or livelihoods programming, and/or experience in Africa or Ghana, is an asset
- Experience developing and implementing Performance Measurement Frameworks (PMFs) and indicators.
- Demonstrated skills in data collection, management, and analysis (quantitative and qualitative).
- Experience supporting donor funded reporting, preferably Global Affairs Canada.
- Knowledge of MEAL systems and tools in international development contexts.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize data into clear findings and narratives.
- Excellent written communication skills, particularly for donor reporting.
- Ability to translate technical RBM concepts for non technical partners and field teams.
- Experience working with multiple partners and across multiple project sites.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage competing deadlines.
- Ability to work collaboratively in multicultural and cross functional teams.
- Strong understanding of RBM principles and requirements, with Global Affairs Canada experience.
- Experience in biodiversity conservation, natural resource management, or sustainable livelihoods programming.
- Familiarity with gender equality, FIAP, and rights based approaches.
- Prior experience working in Ghana or West Africa.
Working Conditions:
- Based on a 40hr work week with a flexible schedule to accommodate working across multiple time zones (Ghana and Canada) as needed
- Extensive office work involving long periods of sitting at computer work stations.
- Time spent at project locations may include field work/conditions which may involve hazards such as dangerous animals, insects, sunburn, working with field equipment such as trucks or ATVs, heavy lifting of field equipment, exposure to wildlife diseases, and working in rural areas and/or remote communities. Field conditions might also involve working long, irregular hours in inclement weather.
- Travel to or reside in field locations or project communities as necessary.
- Driving on highways, dirt roads, and occasional air travel.
- Travel between project sites and head office as necessary
The Wilder Institute Ghana may require outdoor work and staff must be comfortable working in a large variety of outdoor conditions. The Wilder Institute’s Ghana follows the advice of local weather authorities when responding to temperature and air quality issues.
