About the Role

The Warehouse Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient and safe operation of warehouse activities within the transportation and warehousing industry. This position leads our warehouse operations. This role is responsible for supervising warehouse staff, overseeing the shipping and receiving of high-value items (including artwork and furniture), maintaining accurate inventory records, and ensuring the facility is organized, safe, and compliant with all company protocols. A strong focus on client satisfaction, team leadership, and attention to detail are essential.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

  • Supervise, coach, and train warehouse team members
  • Delegate tasks effectively and follow up on results
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and support team development
  • Lead by example with a professional, positive attitude
  • Promote a culture of accountability, safety, and respect

Warehouse Operations

  • Oversee daily shipping, receiving, packing, and storage tasks
  • Ensure accurate documentation for all transactions (logs, BOLs, work orders, etc.)
  • Maintain organized storage and optimize use of warehouse space
  • Apply knowledge of proper packing techniques and materials for fragile and high-value objects

Inventory & Facility Management

  • Maintain and update digital inventory systems
  • Conduct regular inspections and ensure proper labeling and documentation
  • Manage equipment maintenance and supply ordering
  • Support collection management services for clients

Client Communication & Coordination

  • Act as a primary point of contact for client inquiries and issues
  • Provide quotes and shipping estimates when needed
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless client service
  • Follow up with clients and team to confirm job completion and satisfaction

Safety & Compliance

  • Serve as Safety & Security Officer for the company
  • Lead company-wide safety meetings and initiatives
  • Ensure adherence to all safety protocols and regulatory requirements
  • Oversee physical security systems at all locations

Administrative & Strategic Support

  • Participate in company planning sessions and team meetings
  • Perform administrative duties as needed
  • Support company goals through cost analysis, resource planning, and workflow improvements

Qualifications & Experience

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma required
  • Minimum 5 years of warehouse experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
  • Background in inventory management, moving, storage, or art handling is strongly preferred

Skills

  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to interpret documents, write clear emails, and handle client communications professionally
  • Intermediate math skills for calculations, billing, and cost analysis
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Word); experience with warehouse or inventory software preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs and perform physical warehouse tasks
  • Comfortable working around mechanical equipment and in occasionally noisy environments
