About BYD Auto Hungary

On 22 December 2023, BYD announced the construction of a new energy vehicle production base in Szeged, Hungary, which will be built in phases. The new production base is planned to adopt globally advanced process equipment and highly automated production processes to create a world-leading new energy vehicle manufacturing base.

BYD Hungary is a subsidiary of BYD, which is an important part of BYD's international business in response to Hungarian customers and the whole European market. As an essential part of the new energy field, BYD's battery business opening up all linkes in the entire industrial chain of energy from harvesting to storage, to application.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Process Route Planning & Optimization

  • Responsible for full lifecycle process route planning, development, review, and optimization.

  • Design efficient, stable, and compliant manufacturing processes based on product requirements, capacity, cost targets, and production conditions.

  • Manage process documentation, parameters, key controls, and risk analysis to ensure mass production readiness.

2. Tooling & Fixture Development

  • Lead tooling, jig, fixture, and gauge lifecycle management from design to production validation.

  • Optimize fixture design, precision, ergonomics, and cost efficiency.

  • Review technical drawings and specifications to ensure compliance with quality, safety, and production standards.

3. New Product Introduction (NPI)

  • Manage new process and product introduction projects.

  • Support DFM reviews, trial production, process validation, and mass production ramp-up.

  • Ensure smooth transition from product development to stable production.

4. Process Improvement & Quality Enhancement

  • Drive improvements in yield, scrap rate, efficiency, and process stability.

  • Apply data analysis, process optimization, and parameter adjustment to improve FPY (First Pass Yield) and reduce losses.

  • Collaborate with Quality teams to strengthen process control and defect prevention.

5. Root Cause Analysis & Problem Solving

  • Conduct root cause analysis using PFMEA, 5Why, Fishbone Diagram, and 8D methodologies.

  • Lead cross-functional improvement activities with Production, Quality, Equipment, R&D, Supply Chain, and Customers.

  • Ensure closed-loop problem solving and continuous improvement.

6. Process Management & Team Development

  • Establish and optimize process management systems, documentation standards, and PCN change control processes.

  • Support process team development, technical training, knowledge sharing, and capability improvement.

  • Promote standardized and systematic manufacturing operations

Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, Vehicle Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related fields.

Work Experience

  • 3–5 years of experience in process engineering and quality control within battery manufacturing, automotive, precision machining, or mechanical assembly industries.

  • Experience with battery manufacturing processes and new energy vehicle (NEV) projects is highly preferred.

  • Familiarity with full lifecycle manufacturing processes from development to mass production.

Professional Skills

  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing process design, process control, and process documentation:
    PFMEA | Control Plan | SOP | Process Flow Chart

  • Experience in process risk assessment, mass production optimization, and process improvement.

  • Skilled in tooling, jig, fixture, and gauge design, validation, and optimization.

  • Proficient in 2D/3D mechanical design software:
    AutoCAD | SolidWorks | UG/NX

  • Advanced user of MS Office for data analysis, improvement reports, and project documentation.

  • Knowledge of IATF 16949 quality management system.

  • Experienced in quality improvement tools:
    5Why | Fishbone Diagram | 8D | CPK | DOE

Language & Communication Skills

  • Fluent English as a working language, capable of:

    • Technical reporting

    • Email communication

    • Meeting discussions

    • Customer & supplier technical coordination

Competencies

  • Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and risk prevention skills.

  • Ability to manage technical projects independently under pressure.

  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration and communication skills.

  • Experience in team development, technical training, process system building, and cost optimization.
