- Act as the Manager in Charge (MIC) of Compliance and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) for a Hong Kong entity, overseeing the VASP license application with the SFC and ongoing compliance framework.
- Act as the primary point of contact for regulators and supervisory authorities in Hong Kong, leading regulatory communications, examinations, inspections, and ongoing supervisory engagement.
- Design, build, and maintain a comprehensive compliance framework covering AML, CTF, sanctions, KYC/KYB, transaction monitoring and regulatory reporting.
- Own the end to end compliance program lifecycle, including policies, procedures, controls, risk assessments, monitoring, testing, and issue remediation.
- Partner closely with Business, Product, Risk and Legal teams to embed compliance by design into business processes.
- Ensure effective governance, documentation, and audit readiness across all compliance activities.
- Build, mentor, and lead a high performing global compliance team, setting clear accountability and performance standards.
- Monitor global regulatory developments, assess impact, and proactively adapt to the compliance program.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline from Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, UK, or US.
- 6-10 years of compliance experience in a bank, financial institution, fintech, or crypto firm.
- Prior experience acting as the Manager in Charge (MIC) of Compliance and AML in Hong Kong licensed institutions will be an advantage.
- Extensive experience interacting directly with relevant regulatory agencies in Hong Kong.
- Exposure to regulatory governance, licensing, or compliance monitoring within a regulated financial institution.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret regulations and apply them pragmatically to new products and business models.
- Comfortable working in dynamic and ambiguous environments, with the flexibility to adapt regulatory frameworks as the business and regulatory landscape evolve.
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to engage effectively with regulators, senior management, and cross-functional teams.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work under tight timelines.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese.
- Strong team player, good work attitude, takes ownership and has pride in deliverables
