Position Summary

The Vice President of Supply Chain is a senior leadership role responsible for building, leading, and continuously improving the end-to-end supply chain function. This is a hands-on, builder role for a manufacturing company experiencing rapid growth. The Vice President will stand up a high-performing Supply Chain organization, define and implement scalable processes, and serve as a key business partner in the company’s ERP implementation.

The successful candidate will combine strategic vision with the operational rigor needed to drive service level, inventory, and cost performance across the business. This individual will lead and build teams responsible for Production Planning & SIOP (Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning), Procurement, and Material Flow/Warehouse Management.

Key Responsibilities

Demand & Supply Planning
• Lead the development of accurate demand forecasts in collaboration with Sales, Marketing, and Finance.
• Own supply planning processes to translate demand signals into feasible production and procurement plans.
• Balance customer service, inventory investment, and manufacturing capacity constraints.
Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP)
• Design, implement, and facilitate a formal SIOP process, driving cross-functional alignment between Sales, Operations, Finance, and Supply Chain.
• Facilitate and chair Executive SIOP meetings by presenting SIOP outputs and scenario analysis to executive leadership in support of key business decisions.
Material Planning & Inventory Management
• Identify and implement replenishment models and planning parameters, including Safety Stock and Order Frequency, across raw material ABC/XYZ segments.
• Establish inventory strategies and targets for raw materials, WIP, and finished goods that balance service levels with working capital objectives.
• Implement systems and controls to improve inventory accuracy, reduce excess and obsolete inventory, and mitigate stockouts.
Warehouse Management
• Oversee warehouse operations including receiving, storage, order fulfillment, and shipping.
• Implement and lead a cycle count program resulting in improvements in inventory accuracy, material availability at line-side, and inventory write-offs.
• Drive continuous improvement in warehouse layout, throughput, safety, and labor productivity.
Production Material Flow & Detailed Scheduling
• Direct material flow within the production facility to ensure manufacturing lines are supplied efficiently and without disruption.
• Own detailed scheduling of manufacturing lines, optimizing sequencing, changeovers, and throughput.
Procurement
• Lead negotiation of supplier contracts, pricing, and terms to optimize cost, quality, and supply continuity.
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to drive collaboration, performance, and risk mitigation.
• Identify and define sourcing categories and map the supplier base within each category.
• Lead supplier selection, qualification, and onboarding in partnership with Quality and Operations.
ERP Implementation
• Serve as a key business stakeholder and subject matter expert for Supply Chain modules within the ERP implementation.
• Partner with IT and implementation consultants to define requirements, test functionality, and drive user adoption.
Organizational Build & Leadership
• Build, structure, and scale the Supply Chain organization, including hiring, developing, and mentoring directors, managers, planners, analysts, and other supply chain professionals.
• Establish a strong performance culture with clear roles, accountability, and career development pathways.
Process Development & Continuous Improvement
• Design and implement supply chain policies, procedures, and KPIs from the ground up.
• Drive a culture of continuous improvement using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies where applicable.

Qualifcations

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
• 15+ years of progressive supply chain leadership experience in a manufacturing environment, including planning, SIOP, procurement, warehousing, and material flow.
• Demonstrated ability to build and scale a supply chain organization to support a high-growth manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated experience implementing or optimizing SIOP/S&OP processes.
• Hands-on ERP implementation experience (SAP, Oracle, Infor, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar platforms).
• Strong analytical, project management, and change management skills.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence at the executive level.

Preferred Qualifications
• MBA or other advanced degree.
• APICS/ASCM certification (CPIM, CSCP, or CLTD).
• Lean and/or Six Sigma certification.
• Experience in a startup, high-growth, private equity-backed, or organizational build-out environment.
