JOB PURPOSE

Burberry is looking for a skilled Proto & Sample Procurement Assistant to support the smooth movement of materials, samples and procurement activity across the product lifecycle. Based in Scandicci, Florence, this role will provide essential administrative and operational support to the Data Office and Procurement teams, helping to ensure accuracy, pace and clarity from research through to industrialisation.
 
Working closely with internal teams, suppliers, third parties and modellerias, you will help maintain material data, support purchase order activity and coordinate the documentation needed to bring prototypes and samples to the right place at the right time. This is a role for someone who enjoys detail, structure and collaboration, and who understands the importance of precision in the creation of luxury products.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create and maintain raw material, hardware, mould and tool codes, ensuring master data is accurate and up to date.
  • Raise purchase orders for raw materials, hardware, moulds, tools and finished goods across research, prototype, sample and industrialisation phases.
  • Validate purchase prices before orders are placed, supporting accuracy across raw materials, finished goods and third-party supply.
  • Follow up raw material orders and support the timely delivery of materials to sample makers and modellerias.
  • Prepare picking and packing documentation to support the shipment of materials, prototypes and samples between key locations and review meetings.
  • Support supplier onboarding, blocked invoice checks, product or material collections, cost recharges and information requests for internal teams.

PERSONAL PROFILE

  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to work accurately across high volumes of information.
  • Experience in data entry or administrative coordination where accuracy, consistency and follow-through are essential.
  • Confident working with systems and data, including PLM, Excel and Stealth.
  • Organised and proactive, with the ability to prioritise tasks and support multiple activities at pace.
  • Clear communicator who can work effectively with internal teams, suppliers and external partners.
  • Flexible and solutions-focused, with a collaborative approach to supporting product development and procurement activity.
