SUMMARY

The Production Specialist plays a key role in bringing Buff City Soap products to life. This hands-on position is responsible for producing the soaps, detergents, bath bombs, lotions, body butters, and self-care products our customers know and love.

Working as part of the Commissary team, you'll follow established recipes and production processes to create high-quality products safely, efficiently, and consistently. You'll help maintain the craftsmanship and attention to detail behind every product while supporting the inventory needs of our growing business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Produce Buff City Soap products in accordance with established recipes, quality standards, and production schedules.
  • Follow production procedures to ensure consistency in product appearance, scent, texture, performance, and overall quality.
  • Operate production equipment and tools safely and effectively while maintaining productivity goals.
  • Conduct quality checks throughout the production process and communicate any issues that could impact product quality or output.
  • Accurately document batch information, ingredient usage, and production records.
  • Support daily and weekly production goals while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with company standards and operating procedures.
  • Assist with inventory movement, ingredient organization, and material replenishment to support efficient production flow.
  • Partner closely with Production, Fulfillment, Procurement, and Operations teams to ensure products are available to meet customer demand.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, safety, and overall team performance.

 QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1+ year experience in production, manufacturing, food handling, cosmetics, or similar hands-on work.
  • Ability to follow precise recipes and repeat processes consistently.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain cleanliness during production.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with seasonal volume fluctuations.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand/walk for long periods.
  • Experience in handmade bath & body production or natural product manufacturing (preferred)
  • Familiarity with batching logs, scale operation, and small-batch production equipment (preferred)
  • Understanding of weight-based measurement, curing/drying processes, and ingredient safety (preferred)

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Hands-on production environment with natural ingredients and artisan processes.
  • Exposure to heat, fragrance, repetitive tasks, and standing/walking for most of the shift.
  • Highly collaborative culture with shared goals across Production, Fulfillment, and Operations.
  • Extended or flexible hours may be required during peak periods (holidays, promotions).
