Role Purpose

Join a team that brings creative ideas to life. You'll play a key role in delivering English and School Education programmes, working closely with partners, supporting project operations, and helping track impact through reporting, data collection, and evaluation, while ensuring compliance with British Council policies and procedures.

Role Accountabilities

Managing self and others

  • Holding vendors and suppliers accountable for delivering services.
  • Working independently and managing workload against project deadlines.
  • Ensuring timely and effective delivery of assigned responsibilities.

Financial support

  • Planning, monitoring, and reporting project budgets and forecasts.
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting audit requirements.
  • Managing vendor payments and ensuring compliance with SAP Finance and British Council policies.

Project management

  • Managing project data, reporting, and compliance activities.
  • Overseeing grants administration, procurement, and evaluation processes.
  • Delivering programme events and training while supporting diversity action plans.

Relationship and stakeholder management

  • Managing relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Maintaining effective relationships with vendors and suppliers.
  • Holding suppliers accountable for delivering agreed services.

  • Promoting an inclusive and anti-racist organisational culture.
  • Supporting equitable treatment, wellbeing, and mental health across teams.
  • Championing and embedding the British Council’s EDI and anti-racism approach.

Qualifications

Essential: Degree or proven experience in one of British Council’s portfolio areas (Arts, Education, English)

Role Specific Knowledge and Experience

Essential

  • Experience of working in a supporting role on programmes or contracts. 
  • Administrative and financial administration and reporting experience.
  • Good understanding of basic concepts of monitoring and evaluation, and how they are central to good project management.
  • Experience of working with external partners and stakeholders
