Role Summary
The Assistant Manager - FP&A and Business Finance will partner closely with business leaders to deliver actionable financial insights, drive budgeting/forecasting processes, and support strategic decision-making. This role reports to the FP&A Manager and plays a key part in optimising financial performance across our sales, operations, and expansion initiatives in the EdTech space.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Build and track MOP (Monthly Operating Plan) / QOP (Quarterly Operating Plan) for BrightChamps
- Prepare monthly outlook and track actual performance as well as against MOP / QOP
- Influence and drive business decisions / action with appropriate analysis and comments.
- Proactive in reviewing financial information, identifying exceptions / inconsistencies, initiating action and follow-up for logical closure.
- Preparing annual plan and outlook for the organization.
- Highlight risk /opportunities with appropriate analysis.
- Partner with business teams, identify and track appropriate performance measures, key performance indicators and associated drivers.
- Ownership of expenses forecast for the business group by using trend analysis / KPI reviews for better P&L management.
- Provide updates / flash to finance and business teams on the close progress.
- Lead revenue close process deal tracking; collaborate with upstream and downstream process team for resolutions.
- Participate in monthly close calls with the controller’s organization for P&L Review.
- Prepare financial information & analysis for business reviews / presentations with key highlights.
- Handle complex ad hoc requests with a short turnaround time and supplement such request with appropriate analysis and comments to support decision making.
- Support finance / business leader in simulation of revenue projections and corresponding expenses working including working out margin protection / improvement plans.
- Participate in investor discussion and support KPIs building / simulation modelling.
- Preparation of investor pack / presentation with appropriate budget comments to support investor reviews including submission for divisional / corporate consolidation.
- Tracking of sales performance against set targets and provide periodical updates to business.
- Lead projects on cost reductions and value enhancements.
- Lead standardisation & automation projects for process efficiency.
- Developing actionable analytics for corrective action.
- Trouble Shooting issues of Business Teams/vendors/external parties.
Requirements
- Chartered Accountant with 1-3 years of experience
- Prior experience in a tech startup and experience working with Data Visualization tools like Tableau etc is highly desired.
- Demonstrate strong Communication / Presentation Skills and ability to work with peers and counterparts / multi location setup / good team manager.
- Proficient in Office Tools MS Excel, Power Point Skills.
- Good analytical and modelling skills are a must.
- Strong mind set to challenge status Quo and bring in innovative solutions for cost optimizations goals. Strong Influencing and Negotiation skills desired.
