We are currently seeking a highly skilled Payroll & Tax Supervisor to join our dynamic team. This is a crucial role that will contribute significantly to the effective operation and compliance of our payroll processes.
Position Overview:
The Payroll & Tax Supervisor will be the cornerstone of our payroll operations, ensuring all aspects of payroll and taxes are managed efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This role demands a blend of leadership, technical expertise, and a keen eye for detail, providing a challenging and rewarding opportunity for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Payroll Processing: Oversee the entire payroll process for diverse employee groups, ensuring precision in calculations and compliance with all regulations.
- Tax Filings and Reporting: Manage timely submissions of all payroll-related tax documents, including but not limited to Forms 941, 940, W-2s, and state-specific returns.
- Compliance Management: Ensure adherence to all applicable payroll tax laws and regulations, implementing rigorous checks and balances within the payroll process.
- System and Vendor Management: Lead the management and optimization of payroll systems and vendor relationships, driving efficiency and resolving any service issues.
- Team Leadership and Development: Guide and mentor the payroll team, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., CPP, CPA) preferred.
- Proven experience in payroll and tax management, with a solid background in multi-state payroll complexities.
- Expertise in payroll systems (e.g., UKG Pro, ADP, Paychex) and proficiency in MS Excel.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities, capable of managing diverse relationships across the organization and with external partners.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to inspire and cultivate talent within a team.
