Prepare and board commercial loans as part of the Commercial Closing department. The primary function includes boarding externally documented new loans, renewals and extensions. The Commercial Booking Associate II ensures documentation prepared by external counsel is properly executed and processed on the Bank's core operating systems. In addition, the duties include conducting a second day review of boarded loans.
1. Utilize the Commercial Loan operating systems, in order to effectively board new, renewed, extended and modified loans.
2. Maintain a solid working knowledge of high level commercial lending transactions, including real estate, ABLOC, SWAP loans, syndications and participations. Review and understand concepts set forth in the promissory note and various other documents securing loans in order to make an accurate comparison with the Bank's internal loan approval to properly board loans.
3. Ensure completion of assigned daily department second day boarding verification requirements for externally documented commercial loans.
4. Timely respond to inquiries from various internal and external servicing and lending departments regarding changes and modifications to existing and new loan boarding data for assigned loans.
5. Review loan closing and modification documents and offer necessary changes in response to inquiries for operation control group compliance.
6. Track and assign various booking department responsibilities as needed.
7. Knowledge of applicable compliance requirements for loan closings and operations in order to respond to booking inquiries
General knowledge of the lending process and ability to interpret the policies & procedures governing commercial lending.
Understanding of sophisticated commercial loan documentation and concepts related to the loan booking process for large commercial loans, including real estate, ABLOCs, swaps, syndications, and participations.
Working knowledge of general regulations governing the banking industry, as well as agency guidelines and organization policies.
Strong interpersonal skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal commercial customers, attorneys and participating bank personnel.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Detail-oriented with solid organizational skills.
Proficient in MS Office Suite, with knowledge of Salesforce and Fiserv Premier or similar platform programs required.
Ability to maintain the confidentiality of credit and customer information.
3-5 years commercial loan processing experience.
INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL CONTACTS
Internal contacts with various department heads, relationship managers, commercial closing administrators, Loan Servicing associates.
External contact may include borrowers' and bank counsel.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements
Office environment. Ability to operate a computer. Ability to communicate in order to exchange simple to complex information with individuals and groups. Ability to travel throughout Bank footprint.
