Job Description
The Concession Worker greets and interacts with our guest in a friendly, courteous, responsive and accurate manner; works with various types of food, replenishes supplies and performs cashing duties; provides routine support duties to higher level management staff; and performs related tasks within area of assignment.
Qualifications
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

- Delivers superior internal and external guest service the Boyd Gaming Way by ensuring every interaction includes our Six Core Service Standards (Look sharp, smile and greet the guest; Be friendly, polite and use courteous language; Provide especially timely and knowledgeable service and then some; Always find solutions to guests’ problems; Use the guest’s name when appropriate; Thank the guest and invite him or her back.); and work harmoniously with fellow team members.
- Assumes responsibility for greeting and interacting with our guest in a friendly, courteous, responsive and accurate manner; and works with various types of food and refreshments, replenishes supplies and performs cashing duties.
- Assists guests and customers with order requests; fills order correctly and corrects incorrect orders in a professional manner.
- Opens and closes outlet in accordance with established procedures; ensures sanitation and protects company assets.
- Inspects all areas of responsibility for safety and maintenance needs; takes action as needed for a clean, safe, and productive work environment.
- Monitors and maintains supplies needed for the operation and cleaning; maintains par levels; refills supplies for operations and items for sale.
- Participates in the serving and packaging of food and refreshments; maintains a clean work station.
- Makes change and operates a cashier machine; ensures correct change is provided to guest.
- Notifies higher level management of any suspicious or unusual activity and/or transactions in a timely manner.
- Attends and participates in professional group meetings; maintains awareness of new trends and innovations in the field of customer service.
- Performs related duties and responsibilities as required.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
(Related education and experience may be interchangeable on a year for year basis)
Some experience to effectively perform the position duties, with at least two (2) months on the job training in a snack bar or similar food service experience.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: (Licenses, Certifications, Testing, etc.)
- Must be able to obtain all Regulatory licenses that required
- Must successfully pass background check
- Must successfully pass an alcohol and drug screening
- Must be eighteen (18) years of age
- Must be willing to work weekends, Friday and Saturday nights, and holidays if needed.
Knowledge of:
Operations, services and activities of a customer service and concession operation; principles and practices of cashiering and denominations of currency; methods of snack bar operations; food safety and rules and regulations; principles and practices of cleaning standards and customer service; pertinent federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations.
Ability to:
Receive orders, carry food orders, stock supplies and bus tables; operate a variety of equipment which includes a slicer, meat scale, cash register, coffee machine, microwave, steamer, hot dog roaster, beverage dispenser, grill and shake machine; receive monies and make change; communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing; and establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work; prepare clear and concise reports; interpret and explain policies and procedures; interpret and apply federal, state and local policies, laws and regulations.
