Job Description

Shape the Future of Manufacturing

We are seeking a highly strategic and results-driven Network Footprint Leader to lead the design, optimization, and transformation of our global manufacturing and distribution network.

As a key member of the Americas leadership team, you will develop and execute long-term manufacturing footprint strategies that support growth, operational excellence, customer service, supply chain resiliency, and cost competitiveness. This role will influence critical decisions regarding where products are manufactured, how capacity is deployed, which facilities grow, and how the network evolves to meet future market demands. 

You will work closely with senior leaders across Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, Commercial, Procurement, Engineering, Human Resources, and global business teams to shape the future of a complex, multi-site manufacturing network spanning multiple regions. 

What You'll Do

Lead Manufacturing Network Strategy

  • Develop and maintain a multi-year manufacturing footprint strategy aligned with business growth and operational objectives.
  • Evaluate manufacturing location decisions based on cost, labor availability, logistics, tariffs, taxes, sustainability, customer requirements, and geopolitical considerations.
  • Drive network optimization initiatives across manufacturing facilities, distribution centers, and supplier ecosystems.
  • Develop long-term capacity plans that support evolving market demand and business expansion strategies. 

Optimize Network Design & Performance

  • Conduct advanced network modeling and scenario planning to evaluate alternative manufacturing and distribution strategies.
  • Analyze plant utilization, capacity constraints, productivity, throughput, and total landed costs.
  • Develop recommendations regarding Facility expansions; New manufacturing locations; Production transfers; and Facility consolidations. 
  • Monitor network performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement. 

Drive Strategic Capital Investments

  • Build business cases supporting major investments, including new facilities, automation initiatives, and manufacturing transformation programs.
  • Evaluate capital opportunities through detailed financial analysis, including NPV, ROI, IRR, and payback methodologies.
  • Partner with Finance and Operations leaders to prioritize strategic investments across regions. 

Align Capacity with Business Growth

  • Develop manufacturing capacity roadmaps across the network.
  • Partner with Supply Chain Planning teams to align capacity and demand.
  • Lead regular network reviews to identify risks, bottlenecks, and growth opportunities.
  • Support commercial growth initiatives through proactive capacity planning and footprint optimization. 

Strengthen Supply Chain Resilience

  • Assess and mitigate risks related to geopolitical events, trade policies, labor markets, regulatory requirements, natural disasters, and supply disruptions.
  • Develop resilience strategies including regionalization, dual sourcing, redundancy planning, and contingency plans for critical operations.
  • Support business continuity initiatives across the manufacturing network. 

Support Mergers, Acquisitions & Strategic Growth

  • Lead network-related due diligence activities for acquisitions and divestitures.
  • Assess manufacturing footprints of acquisition targets.
  • Identify integration opportunities, operational synergies, and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Support separation and transition planning when required. 

Advance Sustainability Objectives

  • Integrate sustainability considerations into network strategy and investment decisions.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce carbon emissions, transportation miles, energy consumption, and waste.
  • Partner with ESG and Sustainability teams to support environmental commitments and long-term goals.  

     

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in: Supply Chain Management or Industrial Engineering or Operations Management or Manufacturing Engineering or Related discipline

Minimum  15+ years of progressive experience in:

  • Manufacturing Operations
  • Supply Chain Strategy
  • Network Design
  • Industrial Engineering
  • Supply Chain Transformation

5+ years leading global strategic initiatives; Experience supporting multi-site manufacturing environments; Experience managing large-scale footprint transformations and capital projects; Demonstrated success influencing senior executives and cross-functional leaders; Experience working within complex multinational manufacturing organizations.
