POSITION SUMMARY

Leverages analytical and technical skills to build and maintain data solutions that address business problems and support organizational objectives. Conducts modeling and analysis across distribution, performance, and customer data to deliver actionable insights and recommendations to stakeholders across the organization.


FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB 

Essential Functions: which may be representative but not all inclusive of those commonly associated with this position.

  • Conducts distribution modeling, scenario testing, and data validation to support BMI’s delivery of a competitive and accurate distribution.
  • Builds, maintains, and enhances reports, dashboards, and analytical tools that support the needs of Distribution & Administration, Creative, and other internal teams.
  • Queries and analyzes data across multiple platforms and sources to support business decisions, licensing negotiations, and operational processes.
  • Participates in continuous process improvement by identifying and implementing departmental efficiencies.
  • Quickly learns new technologies, data models, and business processes as the team's data environment evolves.
  • Identifies gaps in reporting and analytics and recommends improvements that create value across the distribution supply chain.
  • Promotes the use of data tools and best practices and ensure stakeholders’ analytic needs are being met.
  • Understands all aspects of the distribution supply chain, including data structures, business processes, and distribution methodologies.
  • Supports BMI Core Values and cultivate a culture of diversity and inclusion.

  • Sitting, talking, hearing, and walking.
  • Concentrated mental and visual attention with normal hand-eye coordination.
  • Clarity of vision at 20 inches; corrected or uncorrected.
  • Generally negligible physical effort, but occasional moving of 1 to 10 lb. items.

POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Education:  Bachelor’s Degree required with emphasis in Finance, Economics, Data Science, Statistics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related analytical discipline

Experience: 1–2 years of experience working with data in a professional or academic setting, including demonstrated proficiency in the technical skills listed below:

  • Working knowledge of SQL required; experience querying relational databases or data warehouses strongly preferred
  • Working knowledge of Python required (pandas, data manipulation, and scripting)
  • Working knowledge of visualization tools required; Power BI preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in analysis, preparation and presentation of data

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite; intermediate to advanced Excel skills required.
  • Ability to translate ambiguous business questions into structured analytical approaches
  • Ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical audiences
  • Attention to Detail.
  • Ability to build trust with business stakeholders and serve as a reliable analytical resource across teams
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities simultaneously
