The Night Operations position is responsible for overseeing all Dispatch activity for their assigned shift in the Night Operations department. This position will be primarily focused on Highway Dispatch and Customer Service.


The focus of this role is the identification and resolution of all non-routine or time-sensitive issues that arise after regular business hours. This desk deals with a high volume of team drivers and cross border functions. The Night Operations staff must display sound judgment and involve other operations staff in the resolution process, as they deem necessary.

Specific Responsibilities include:

  • Identify and resolve all non-routine, time-bound operational issues occurring afterhours.
  • Prioritize tasks based on sensitivity (emergency, non-routine, routine) and respond accordingly.
  • Interface with Dispatch, Planning, Customer Service and other functional business units to ensure customer and driver satisfaction.
  • Manage all afterhours inbound/outbound satellite, telephone, email, and in-person communications for Highway operations and customer service.
  • Document and report all customer service, planning, and driver-related issues to the appropriate departments/personnel.
  • Manage all incoming inquiries and provide excellent customer service according to Bison standards.

Our Ideal Candidate will possess:

  • Must have prior dispatch experience in order to be considered for this role.
  • Experience in cross border operations is considered to be an asset.
  • Dedicated experience providing customer service in a similar work environment.
  • Well organized, an excellent communicator, and have a keen sense of timeliness.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, communication, problem solving, and planning abilities.
  • Ability to multitask and to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proven analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities.

This position follows a modified Night Shift schedule: Sunday to Tuesday, and alternating Wednesdays (every other week). Hours of work are 18:00 - 06:00 CT.
