About the position
The Intern – Gender, Social Communications
and Monitoring will provide technical and operational support to project
activities focused on gender equality, youth engagement, monitoring and
learning, and social communications.
The incumbent will support field data collection and analysis, maintain project
databases and monitoring tools, contribute to reporting and learning
activities, and develop communication materials including social media content,
blogs and infographics. The role will also support training and backstopping of
groups and agribusinesses in mainstreaming gender and youth considerations and
contribute to documenting project results and impacts. The position requires
strong communication and writing skills, attention to detail, flexibility, and
a focus on timely delivery of outputs.
- Learn and understand and support scaling impacts approaches
- Train and backstop groups and agribusinesses in mainstreaming gender
equality and youth engagement
- Participate and supervise data collection activities
- Contribute to analyses and writing of reports
- Clean and maintain project survey and partner databases
- Develop and maintain monitoring and learning activities and project
dashboard
- Generate social media content and other communication outputs for the
project
- Any other duty that may be
assigned to him by the supervisor
Deliverables
- Prepare and submit bi-weekly field reports
- Contributions to field survey plans, reports of analysed data and reports
- Gender reporting in activities and reports
- Social media content creation, blogs and infographics
- Monthly progress reports
Education and Requirements
- Bachelor’s
Degree in Socioeconomics, Rural Development, Economics, Agribusiness, or any
other related field.

Terms of employment
This is a
nationally recruited position based in Nairobi, Kenya. The initial contract
will be for up to Six (6) Month,
subject to a probation period according to local legislation, and is renewable depending on the
performance and availability of resources.
