Associate Director, Site Training – RTP Bio

At Biogen, the Associate Director, Site Training is responsible for leading the strategy, execution, and continuous improvement of training programs supporting RTP site operations. This role serves as a trusted business partner to site leadership, ensuring training programs, learning solutions, and certification processes meet regulatory requirements while enabling operational excellence. The Associate Director will drive innovation in learning, champion best practices, and develop a high-performing training organization that supports workforce capability and compliance.
What You'll Do
- Lead the overall site training strategy for RTP operations, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Partner with site leaders, subject matter experts, and learning professionals to assess development needs and implement scalable training solutions.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to manufacturing and technical operations leaders on learning, compliance, and workforce capability initiatives.
- Represent the training function during regulatory inspections, audits, and compliance reviews.
- Develop and monitor training effectiveness metrics, compliance KPIs, and certification programs to drive continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with external industry groups, consortiums, and learning partners to bring innovative practices and technologies into the training program.
- Drive consistency and standardization of training processes across functions while supporting site-specific business needs.
- Manage departmental budgets, program timelines, and training-related initiatives while ensuring adherence to policies and SOPs.
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of training professionals to achieve business objectives and support career growth.
Who You Are
You are a strategic leader who thrives in highly regulated manufacturing environments. You combine deep expertise in training and development with strong business acumen, enabling you to influence stakeholders, drive compliance, and build learning programs that improve organizational performance.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Learning, Psychology, Education, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
- 10+ years of relevant experience, including experience within a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, manufacturing, or other regulated industry.
- Experience developing, implementing, and/or evaluating training and learning programs.
- Previous leadership experience managing and developing teams.
- Knowledge of cGMP requirements and regulatory expectations related to training and personnel qualification.
- Experience managing training compliance programs, certification programs, and/or key performance metrics across multiple functions.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and partner effectively with senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Experience supporting regulatory inspections and audits.
Preferred Skills
- Experience supporting pharmaceutical or biotechnology manufacturing operations.
- Experience working with industry groups, professional organizations, or consortiums to advance training best practices.
- Knowledge of business process improvement, standardization, and workforce capability development.
- Experience leading site-wide or enterprise-level learning and development initiatives.
Additional Information
Base salary offered is determined through an analytical approach utilizing a combination of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills & experience, job location, and internal equity.
