The Card Ops team is responsible for the operational management of credit/debit card payment flows. The core objective is to improve payment stability, reduce transaction failure rates, and drive root cause attribution, remediation, and closure for failed transactions. In short: reduce failures, identify failures, fix failures, and prevent recurring failures.
\nResponsibilities:- Monitor daily overall Card failure rates as well as breakdowns by region, country, and channel; identify anomalies and trends
- Determine responsible parties (Issuer / Acquirer / Channel / Network) based on error codes and drive root cause closure
- Manage RCA (Root Cause Analysis) coverage for Top Errors, ensuring high-impact errors have clear action items and are closed on time
- Develop and execute routing adjustment strategies based on error data and transaction performance (channel traffic distribution, BIN/Issuer-level optimization)
- Evaluate the effectiveness of routing adjustments and track whether Success Rate (SR) improvements meet expectations
- Collaborate with the BD team to assess channel risk, success rates, and SLAs prior to channel onboarding
Manage channel health, monitor the progress and closure rate of Partner/Channel issues - Coordinate escalations and fixes with Partners, ensuring Refund / Failed-but-Charged scenarios are resolved within SLA
- Work closely with Product, Tech, Risk, BD, and other teams to translate operational insights into actionable product and technical improvements
- Extensive experience in the card payment domain with a deep understanding of credit/debit card payment flows (Acquiring / Routing / BIN / Issuer / Network); able to accurately identify responsible parties based on error codes
- Hands-on experience with card routing and channels; knows how to allocate traffic across channels appropriately, with proven track record of traffic scheduling and success rate optimization
- Strong knowledge of card payment industry operating rules and standards
- Fluent English is required — able to communicate seamlessly with global Partners and cross-border teams; bilingual (Chinese/English) is preferred
- Able to collaborate efficiently with BD, Product, Tech, Risk, and other teams to translate operational insights into executable action items
- Experience building or optimizing a card payment operations system from 0 to 1
- Hands-on experience with new channel onboarding assessment and channel derisking
- Experience monitoring payment performance and detecting changes in new markets
