Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Trainee Mechanical Engineer – Bahrain National to join our engineering team in Bahrain.

The successful candidate will receive structured on-the-job training and practical exposure to mechanical engineering activities across Oil & Gas, petrochemical and industrial projects. The role will work under the supervision of experienced Mechanical Engineers and will support the preparation and execution of engineering deliverables in accordance with project requirements, applicable codes and standards, and company procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Senior and Lead Mechanical Engineers in the execution of engineering projects.
  • Assist in preparing mechanical engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, datasheets and technical documentation.
  • Support the preparation and review of mechanical equipment datasheets and specifications.
  • Gain practical exposure to mechanical equipment such as pumps, compressors, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, tanks and packaged equipment.
  • Assist with technical review of vendor documents and engineering submissions.
  • Support preparation of material requisitions and technical bid evaluations.
  • Coordinate with Process, Piping, Civil & Structural, Electrical and Instrumentation disciplines.
  • Participate in design reviews, technical meetings and multidisciplinary coordination.
  • Assist in responding to technical queries and resolving engineering issues.
  • Support site visits, equipment inspections, walkdowns and construction activities when required.
  • Assist with checking engineering deliverables for compliance with project specifications and applicable standards.
  • Maintain accurate project records and engineering documentation.
  • Follow company Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental requirements.
  • Participate actively in technical training and professional development programmes.
  • Develop knowledge of industry standards, engineering practices and project execution methodologies.
  • Perform other engineering duties as assigned by the Lead/Senior Mechanical Engineer.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university.
  • Bahraini National.
  • Fresh graduate or up to 2 years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Strong interest in developing a career in Oil & Gas / Petrochemical / Industrial Engineering.
  • Good understanding of basic mechanical engineering principles.
  • Good command of written and spoken English.
  • Good analytical, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Basic knowledge of AutoCAD or other engineering design software is an advantage.
  • Willingness to learn and work in a multidisciplinary engineering environment.

Preferred Skills

  • Academic or internship exposure to Oil & Gas, Petrochemical or Industrial projects.
  • Familiarity with ASME, API, ASTM and ISO standards is an advantage.
  • Exposure to mechanical equipment, piping systems or rotating/static equipment.
  • Engineering internship or graduate training experience.
  • Strong interest in developing technical and project-management capabilities.

  • Professional engineering development and competency progression.
