About this role

Full-Time Nanny/Housekeeper & Family Assistant
Poole/Bournemouth, Dorset
Minimum £50,000 gross per annum
Excellent accommodation and additional benefits
Five days per week | Long-term position

A warm, welcoming and genuinely considerate family is seeking an experienced Nanny/Housekeeper and Family Assistant to join them in Poole on a long-term basis.

The family has a one-year-old daughter who attends nursery, with a second baby due in mid-November 2026. The mother will be at home and is looking for someone kind, capable and flexible to work alongside her, providing practical support with the children and helping to keep the household organised.

This is intended to be a collaborative position rather than a demanding sole-charge role. The family is also completely open to employing an additional nanny if further support is needed following the baby’s arrival. They would like to discuss the precise structure with the successful candidate and establish an arrangement that works well for everyone.

Working pattern

The position is five days per week, although the working days will not necessarily be Monday to Friday and some weekend availability may be required.

The working day will fall broadly within a 7am–7pm window. However, this will not involve 12 hours of continuous work. The busiest periods will generally be:

• The children’s morning routine
• Late afternoon and early evening
• Bath and bedtime

There will be meaningful downtime during the quieter part of the day. The precise hours, days off and division of responsibilities will be discussed openly with the successful candidate.

Responsibilities

Duties will include:

• Working alongside Mum to care for the one-year-old and new baby
• Helping with the morning routine
• Nursery preparation, drop-offs and collections as required
• Supporting the family during the afternoon and evening
• Helping with bath and bedtime
• Preparing simple, healthy meals for the children and family
• General housekeeping and keeping the home organised
• Family laundry and ironing
• Helping with household supplies, shopping and errands
• Liaising with tradespeople and contractors when required
• Travelling with the family, including visits to France and Spain
• Working flexibly and collaboratively as part of the family’s wider team

The family

These are respectful and experienced employers with an established wider team. They have a particularly positive history of employing Filipino staff and greatly value their professionalism, loyalty and approach to family life.

A prospective candidate will be welcome to speak privately with existing Filipino staff connected to the family, including in a shared language if preferred. This will allow the candidate to ask questions and hear directly about the family’s approach as employers.

Accommodation and benefits

The family is offering an excellent overall package, including:

• A minimum salary of £50,000 gross per annum
• A beautiful private bedroom with its own bathroom and balcony
• The possibility of a separate nearby flat, depending on the candidate’s circumstances
• Agreed local commuting costs covered if the candidate lives nearby
• Regular return bus or train tickets to London, or a similar agreed travel contribution
• One or two return flights to the Philippines each year
• Possible support with obtaining a UK driving licence
• A welcoming Filipino community within the local area
• Additional nanny support if the family and candidate agree that it is needed

Poole and Bournemouth offer an excellent coastal lifestyle with considerably more affordable living costs than London. The family is keen to help the successful candidate settle happily in the area while maintaining regular connections with London and family overseas.

Start date

The family can offer an immediate start but is under no pressure to rush the appointment. Their priority is finding the right person: someone kind, trustworthy and interested in becoming a valued, long-term member of the family’s team.

Requirements

The family is looking for someone who is:

• Already based in the UK with established right to work; no sponsorship is available
• Experienced within private family homes, ideally with at least five years’ experience
• Confident and experienced with babies and very young children
• Warm, nurturing and comfortable working alongside a hands-on mother
• Capable of assisting with both childcare and housekeeping
• Organised, discreet, trustworthy and interested in a genuinely long-term position
• Comfortable travelling internationally with the family
• In possession of a valid passport and able to obtain any necessary travel permissions
• Ideally a confident driver with a full UK driving licence

Driving is strongly preferred because of the location. However, the family may be willing to help an exceptional candidate obtain a UK driving licence.
