We are looking to hire a dedicated Technician to join our team who will support our Mechanical department.Position Summary
The Avionics Test Technician supports the maintenance and calibration of aircraft avionics using the ATEC (Automatic Test Equipment Complex) Series 5 and 6 workstations. This role requires an Associate Certified Electronics Technician (CET) credential, computer literacy, and a strong grasp of the ATLAS (Abbreviated Test Language for All Systems) programming language to execute and troubleshoot automated test procedures.
Experience:
- Minimum 1-3 years of experience with MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul) Approved FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) Part 145-Repair Station Environment
- Must possess the ability to follow written instructions approved by the FAA/ OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) data for maintenance
- Electronics Technicians must possess the ability to solder and de-solder electronic components (through hole-mounted and surface mounted components).
- Must have knowledge of test equipment required for the position.
- Must possess the ability to work with little or no supervision
- Proficiently Read, write, and understand English and knowledge of basic math.
Key Responsibilities:
- System Operation: Execute automated test programs on the ATEC platform to diagnose Line Replaceable Units (LRUs).
- Test Execution: Ability to use software environments like Spherea’s ATEC suite or NI (National Instrument) Test Stand.
- Compiler Proficiency: Experience using ATLAS compilers to translate high-level test requirements into machine-level instructions for the test bench preferred.
- ATLAS Troubleshooting: Interpret ATLAS source code to identify whether a "Fail" result is due to a hardware defect or a software/connection error.
- Bench Repair: Perform component-level troubleshooting and precision soldering on PCBAs following diagnostic results. IPC-A-610 or J-STD-001 preferred.
- Documentation: Maintain digital logs of test results and calibration certificates using specialized aviation maintenance software.
- Reports to the Shop Lead Technician, or Shop Manager.
Qualifications:
- Certification: Active ETA-I Associate Certified Electronics Technician (CETa) credential.
- Technical Skill: Proficiency with oscilloscopes, multimeters, and signal generators.
- Education: Associate degree in Electronics Technology or equivalent military training (e.g., Navy AT or Air Force Avionics) preferred.
