We are looking to hire a dedicated Quality Control Inspector to join our team and support our Quality Control department.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Successfully complete the organization's structured 18-month (minimum requirement) Inspector Training Program. 
  • Participate in hands-on training within the Instrument, Avionics, and ATEC shops to develop the knowledge and practical experience required for qualification as a Return-to-Service Inspector.
  • Learn and apply applicable FAA regulations, customer requirements, and Barfield Quality Management System (QMS) procedures.
  • Perform receiving, preliminary, in-process, and final inspections under the direct supervision of qualified QC Inspectors.
  • Develop the knowledge and practical skills necessary to determine the airworthiness of repaired and overhauled aircraft components.
  • Review maintenance records, repair orders, engineering data, and technical publications for completeness and regulatory compliance.
  • Learn the proper completion and issuance requirements of FAA Form 8130-3 (Approval for Return to Service).
  • Participate in internal quality audits and corrective action activities to gain familiarity with quality system requirements.
  • Assist with investigations of nonconformances and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Maintain inspection records and quality documentation in accordance with FAA regulations and company procedures.
  • Demonstrate continuous progress throughout the training program toward eligibility for issuance of an FAA Repairman Certificate with Instrument Rating.
  • Successfully complete all required classroom instruction, on-the-job training, competency evaluations, and practical demonstrations.

Required Skills:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of five (5) years of aviation maintenance experience in a Part 145 Repair Station, Part 121 operator, military aviation, or equivalent aircraft maintenance environment.
  • Demonstrated mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong willingness to participate in and successfully complete an 18-month structured training program.
  • Ability to learn and apply FAA regulations, technical manuals, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, and customer specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Previous experience in Instrument, Avionics, or Electrical Component Repair.
  • Must be eligible to obtain an FAA Repairman Certificate upon successful completion of the training program.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous Quality Control or inspection experience.
  • Experience troubleshooting electro-mechanical or pneumatic systems.
  • Working knowledge of FAA regulations, including 14 CFR Parts 43, 65, and 145.
  • Experience reading wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, and Component Maintenance Manuals (CMMs).
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certificate preferred but not required.
  • Previous FAA Repairman Certificate preferred but not required.
