Expert NPI Services Engineer

The NPI Service Engineer enables worldwide sales of Barco products by certification of Barco product for our markets in our product categories for:

• Product Safety which ensures safe use and servicing
• EMC, avoiding interference with nearby electronics and communications
• Wireless - Radio Functionality for safe and correct use of the frequency spectrum

Reliability & Environmental testing (REL & ENV) ensure our products to be reliable beyond warranty when used within their operational and storage specifications. Packaging tests (PCK) simulate transport modes and help to avoid delivering damaged products.
 
Provide training to all stakeholders on changing regulations, standards and requirements for all the above topics. Take part in the national and international technical committees who define the applicable standards and work methods.
 
ECO regulations are in some cases part of general certifications schemes like EU DoC an UKCA DoC but have usually their specific certificates.

Key Responsibilities:

1. NPI Service Engineer responsibilities in NPI:

• Provide planning & deliverables in line with milestones.
• Request commitment of stakeholders towards deliverables.
• Review product for compliance with safety standard & use of critical components.
• Test according to safety & EMC standards + environmental & reliability.
• Test & certification executed for wireless connectivity with external partner(s).
• Review manuals, labels & packaging.
• Applies for product certification as required by targeted sales countries.

2. NPI Service Engineer responsibilities after NPI:

• Renewal of certificates before expiration.
• Update certificate in line with product changes after FQR.
• Define required actions on standard updates.
• Support production audits on certification.
• Keep test reports on server up to date.
• Checks on production samples (Safety & EMC tests).
• Update TDE database with latest certificates.

3. NPI Service Engineer in certification:

• Communicate requirements to all stakeholders for finished products and components.
• Define the product validation test plan.
• Offer testing, reporting and obtains certification marks.
• Provide the safety critical components instruction and CoC to IQC, component engineers and ELS.
• Communicate obtained certification marks to the NPI and product manager.
• Define the requirements for manuals, product ID labels, warning labels and box labels.
• Provide the necessary content (e.g. power ratings, certification model names, ...) to the documentation responsible to create and translate the product manuals on time (one month before FQR).
• Perform review of reports, certificates, manuals, product ID labels, warning labels and box labels.
• Initiate ER’s for product ID Label and/or box label updates.
• Initiate factory audits (initial and maintenance), act as the interface between the certification body and the Business Unit.
• Perform product compliance management.
• Identify the need for recertification/retesting for post-FQR product/component updates.
• Upload and maintain certificates in TDE.
• Update ALM.
• Block and unblock products for specific countries (destination country block).
• Maintain destination country block overview of product portfolio, act as main point of contact.

4. Complete other business-related tasks assigned by the reporting manager.

Required Qualification:

• Bachelor degree or above.
• 5-10 years’ experiences in electrical product industry.
• Experience in medical device or display related industry will be a plus.
• Relevant certifications cover CB-62368/CB-60601/EMC/CCC/CECP/CE/UKCA/BIS/IMTRO /NOMS/BSMI/Demko/UL/CSA/FCC/KC/RCM/EAC/PSE and etc.
