Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Distribution Centre Shift Supervisor to lead the day-to-day operations of our Distribution Centre. This role is responsible for ensuring warehouse operations are conducted safely, efficiently, and accurately while driving team performance, inventory integrity, and continuous improvement initiatives.

You will lead a team of warehouse professionals, oversee operational processes and systems, monitor performance against key metrics, and support the delivery of exceptional service across the supply chain network. 

Key Responsibilities

Operations Management

  • Supervise and coordinate daily warehouse and distribution activities.
  • Ensure efficient inventory flow and stock accuracy across the Distribution Centre.
  • Monitor operational performance and support achievement of service and productivity targets.
  • Complete stock takes, inventory investigations, and reporting requirements.
  • Maintain operational systems and act as a key user for warehouse management and ERP systems.
  • Coordinate maintenance of warehouse equipment, facilities, and operational consumables. 

Health & Safety

  • Champion a strong safety culture and promote a zero-harm workplace.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety legislation, policies, and procedures.
  • Participate in hazard identification, risk management, incident investigations, and reporting.
  • Support continuous improvement of safety standards across the site. 

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of warehouse personnel.
  • Conduct training, mentoring, and performance management activities.
  • Foster a positive, accountable, and high-performing team culture.
  • Role model company values, leadership behaviours, and safe work practices.
  • Support succession planning and capability development within the team. 

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve operational efficiency and productivity.
  • Participate in business improvement projects and process enhancements.
  • Build effective relationships with internal stakeholders, suppliers, contractors, and service providers.

Qualifications

  • Qualification in Supply Chain, Logistics, Warehousing, or a related field.
  • Minimum 4 years' experience in warehousing and distribution operations.
  • Proven experience leading and supervising teams in a warehouse environment.
  • Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) and ERP systems.
  • Strong reporting, analysis, and operational performance monitoring experience.
  • Demonstrated customer service experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
