About this role

We are seeking an experienced Portfolio Manager-Media & Entertainment to support our Corporate and Institutional Banking (CIB) Group.  As a Portfolio Manager within the Media & Entertainment team, you will be a senior member of the lending team and will be responsible for assisting in the managing of risk in the portfolio and the individual credits that comprise the portfolio; helping in the structuring and underwriting of new transactions, and mentoring and training of junior staff.

  • Ongoing Media & Entertainment (“M&E”) loan portfolio and risk management activities, including monitoring borrowers’ operating performance and financial condition. Experience and duties shall include the following:
    • Proficiency in borrowing base and cash flow lending.
    • Experience with managing syndicated loans.
    • Credit quality assessment to ensure appropriate risk ratings at all times.
    • Complete quarterly Trend Cards with presentations to credit management at the group’s quarterly review meetings.
    • Identify early warning signs of loans and provide immediate notification to the Head PM and Head RM to discuss an action plan, participate in discussions with Senior Management and Credit Administration and to monitor performance to action plan.
    • Monitor borrowers’ compliance requirements and update Bank systems in a timely manner.
    • Monitor loan repayment activities and take necessary action to collect past due accounts.
  • Drive the internal credit loan approval process from pre-discussion through full underwriting, coordinating diligence requirements/ proposed timelines and establishing the appropriate structure of credits.
  • Collaborate with the Head of M&E/Head Portfolio Manager in loan structuring, underwriting and credit approval consistent with the Bank’s policy guidelines.
  • Maintain and cultivate an effective working relationship with internal Bank clients (operations, legal, compliance, senior management) and external clients (borrowers, outside counsel, bank syndicates, specialized consultants).
  • Attend and conduct joint prospect/client calls with Head of M&E/Head Portfolio Manager to learn and contribute to the full banking relationship.
  • Develop and mentor junior staff.
  • Ensure implementation and compliance to meet lending and other applicable banking requirements.
  • Comply with the Bank’s security program, including but not limited to:
    • Review and comply with the End-User Computing Agreement
    • Acquire good knowledge on functions and usage of computer systems as related to the assigned job functions.
    • Be current and knowledgeable in industry’s trend in safeguarding the Bank against confidential data leak, identity theft, fraudulent activities, and computer security threats.
    • Reports suspicious activities to manager, Chief Risk Officer or Information Security Officer.

 

Job Qualifications/Requirements

  • Required: Minimum five to ten years of experience in banking.
  • Required: Ability to analyze and organize financial information and perform complex financial calculations
  • Required: Detailed knowledge of banking regulations and laws; compliance documentation, and reporting requirements.
  • Required: Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate effectively and project a professional image when giving and taking information in writing, in person, and over the phone.
  • Required: Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or customer complaints.
  • Required: Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, employees, regulators, or board members.
  • Required: Excellent analytical skills including the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions.
  • Required: Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Required: Ability to demonstrate a high level of ethical behavior and follow the Code of Conduct.

The salary range for this full-time position is $200,000 - $225,000 annually + bonus + benefits

Salary ranges are determined based on qualifications, level, and location.
