Commercial Onboarding Officer
About this role
As the Commercial Onboarding Officer, you will be responsible for conducting New Account Quality Assurance sampling review, performing KYC Periodic review, providing training sessions when needed and any ad-hoc work related to supporting the First Line of Defense.
In addition, you will assist (when needed) in supporting frontline Commercial Relationship Managers with the onboarding and deposit account opening process, with an emphasis on delivering exceptional customer experiences while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. This position requires strong job knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across business units.
- New Account Quality Assurance
- Review customer account onboarding documentation to ensure Commercial Banking and BSA/AML/KYC procedures are met.
- Review Customer Risk Ratings (CRR) for accuracy and completion.
- Ensure that all proper documentation and approvals are obtained.
- Manage effective communication with onboarding team to obtain accurate information and/or documents.
- Provide onboarding team with training and guidance, as needed, to ensure compliance with the bank’s FCC policies and procedures.
- Serve as primary point of contact to address business stakeholders and onboarding team inquiries for matters related to QA
- Support the team by performing Periodic KYC refreshes for High and Medium-Risk Customers as prescribed by the Bank’s policy and KYC programs.
- Lead strategic working group to improve results pertaining to QA reports and Internal Audit Reports.
- Perform cross-functional duties as assigned from time to time and provide training to others within the team as needed.
- Assist (when needed) the onboarding process for new commercial clients, including Know Your Customer (KYC) validation and full due diligence in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Open and set up new deposit accounts, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to internal policies and compliance requirements.
- Collaborate closely with Relationship Managers and internal partners to ensure seamless and efficient onboarding experience.
- Respond to client requests in a timely, professional, and solutions-oriented manner.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal controls to mitigate risk.
Job Qualifications/Requirements
Education/Credentials
- Minimum Education Level: High School Diploma
Prior Experience
- Minimum Job Experience: 3-5 years in the related field
Technical Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong knowledge of deposit account opening, onboarding processes, and regulatory compliance requirements (including KYC and CIP).
- Analytical and detail-oriented, with the ability to identify issues, propose solutions, and maintain accuracy under pressure.
- Highly organized with excellent time management skills to balance multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build collaborative relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
The salary range for this full-time position is $33.65 - $38.46 hourly + bonus + benefits
