Job Description:
This job is responsible for ensuring operational data is fit for purpose, defining controls, and monitoring processes are in adherence to enterprise data management standards. Key responsibilities include triaging and remediating data incidents, performing data analysis, training new users, and performing impact analysis stemming from data updates. Job expectations include helping in defining access and ownership of data by domain, conducting quality control, and overseeing data maintenance.
This role will specifically support Enterprise Customer Profitability (a.k.a. Profit), which is an enterprise application and authorized data source which produces risk adjusted profitability data for ~ 210MM+ customer accounts each month. The scope of Enterprise Customer Profitability spans all 8 lines of business. The role will also support the Customer Activity Based Costing (ABC) application, which supports Non-Interest Expense calculated by the Profit application.
The engine that calculates Profit data and the ABC application are both being modernized to a new technology over the next 4 years.
Responsibilities:
- Ensures data is accurate, complete, and fit for performing data analyses through various testing procedures and data controls which help to identify business insights fit for purpose for a particular product set
- Develops and executes on Enterprise Data Management policies and standards, works across teams to ensure adherence, serves as a key point of contact for all topics related to data compliance, and manages operational elements of the (Enterprise Data Strategy Governance and Operations (EDSGO) relationship
- Manages data related incidents and identifies, communicates, and resolves or escalates issues as needed. Data inquiries include questions related to data issues, availability of data, and potential sourcing alternatives to inform
- Develops, manages, and executes on controls, ensuring tracking, monitoring, and resolution of any control breaches with data platform
- Partners with Business and Technology functions to drive the development of business and functional requirements documents and ensures strategic upstream resolution for data related incidents
- Support change from requirements through testing and post-production validation
- This role will be expected to ingest detailed requirements, attend design sessions and independently build a test plan and develop test scripts
- Identify and log defects during testing and retest as defects are remediated
- Respond to technology partner inquiries and provide business data insights through ad-hoc queries
- Educate tech partners on data flows, logic/methodologies and relationships within Enterprise Customer Profitability
- Maintain reference data and documentation for Bank products coming out of the modernization initiative for downstream readiness, Desktop procedures and data lineage
Required Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in supporting banking/financial services industry
- Strong understanding of financial statements and profitability metrics
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple high-impact projects simultaneously
- Ability to work independently
- Prior experience as a contributing member on a project team, including writing requirements, test plans, test scripts and executing test scripts
- SQL proficient
Minimum Education
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, data analytics or related Business Field, preferred
