Job Description:
This role is responsible for moderately complex transaction processing, reconciliation, and resolution of research requests supporting the wealth management business. These transactions and requests may carry high levels of monetary risk. Additional responsibilities include providing quality service and effective and efficient operations support for internal business partners and/or external clients. Individuals should be well versed in operational processes, and assist in training for less experienced team members.
Preference will be given to candidates with experience in brokerage, wire operations, fraud detection, financial services, or risk management. Candidates should demonstrate strong critical thinking, attention to detail, decision-making skills, and the ability to manage risk while delivering a positive client experience in a fast-paced operational environment.
Responsibilities:
- Review and decision wire transfer requests by conducting thorough fraud and risk assessments while adhering to established policies and procedures.
- Authenticate clients and validate transaction details through outbound client contact and other approved verification methods.
- Identify, investigate, and escalate suspicious activity, fraud indicators, and potential financial exploitation concerns.
- Analyze account activity, client profiles, and transaction patterns to determine appropriate risk-based actions.
- Partner with Financial Advisors, Relationship Managers, Branch personnel, and internal business partners to resolve escalations and facilitate timely transaction processing.
- Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of fraud reviews, risk assessments, and client interactions.
- Balance productivity, quality, and risk management expectations in a high-volume operational environment.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, internal controls, and operational procedures designed to mitigate fraud and financial loss.
- Contribute to process improvements, operational excellence initiatives, and a positive team culture through collaboration and knowledge sharing.
- Utilize critical thinking and sound judgment to make decisions that protect clients and the bank while delivering a positive client experience.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in financial services, banking, brokerage operations, fraud prevention, risk management, or a related operational environment.
- Experience reviewing and processing financial transactions while adhering to established policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and decision-making skills with the ability to identify and assess fraud and risk indicators.
- Experience conducting client authentication, account reviews, or transaction verification activities.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a high-volume, fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate professionally with clients and business partners.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet productivity, quality, and service expectations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn multiple systems and workflow tools.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and escalate concerns appropriately based on risk and policy requirements.
Desired Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in brokerage operations, wire processing, fraud prevention, risk management, financial crime investigations, or wealth management operations.
- Experience reviewing high-dollar or complex financial transactions and conducting risk-based decision-making.
- Knowledge of wire transfer processes, fraud trends, client authentication requirements, and financial services regulations.
- Experience supporting brokerage or wealth management clients, Financial Advisors, Private Bank, or Relationship Managers.
- Demonstrated ability to identify fraud red flags, suspicious activity, and potential financial exploitation scenarios.
- Experience working with multiple systems and workflow tools in a high-volume operational environment.
- Proven track record of exceeding productivity, quality, and service expectations.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make independent decisions while balancing risk and client experience.
- Experience participating in process improvement initiatives, project work, training, or mentoring peers.
