Hotel - Houseman

Job Purpose:  Cleans, re-stocks, and maintains hotel guestrooms and suites ensuring guest comfort, safety and satisfaction.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED.
• High energy level.
• Good judgment and common sense.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule.

License Requirements:

Must secure appropriate RI mandated gaming licenses

Essential Job Functions:

• Enhances the guest experience by providing exceptional service.
• Bring all clean linen up to housekeeping closets.
• Replenish tissues, toilet paper and refill chemical bottle supply if needed.
• Greets guests passing in corridors, establishing eye contact.
• Vacuum and mop floor and clean elevators inside and out.
• Remove, clean and replace all garbage bags in outside elevator lobby area.
• Uses safety equipment as required.
• Restock GRA carts and remove any soiled linen or trash.
• Deliver requests from guests in a timely manner.
• Clean stairwells and mop daily.
• Assist supervisors & GRA’s with changing mattress encasement if needed.
• Dust all hallway baseboards.
• Bring all soiled linen to the first floor.
• Communicate any damages to the housekeeping supervisor.
• Assist with stripping beds and removing trash from guest rooms if needed.
• Restocks housekeeping cart at least three times daily.
• Makes suggestions for improvements in overall operations with emphasis on increasing guest satisfaction, revenues as well as reducing costs.
• Establishes and maintains close working relationships with all employees to ensure maximum cooperation, productivity, morale and guest service.
• Resolves guest issues.
• Adheres to department and property policies and procedures.

Physical/Mental Requirements:

• Constantly use physical movements necessary for general office duties: standing, walking, balancing, eye-hand coordination, finger dexterity, handling, wrist motion, sitting, reaching, carrying, vision, hearing, stooping, and twisting.
• Constantly plan, follow directions, read, write, use math, discriminate colors, work at various tempos or work rapidly, concentrate, remember, attention to and observe details, use of ten key and personal computer.
• Constantly use mental alertness to achieve high level of accuracy in completing tasks.

Working Conditions:

• Mostly indoors and generally climate-controlled environment
• Will be exposed to noise, smoke, and odors
• Working with others and independently

Target Hourly Range: $21.60 per hour
