Licensed Massage Therapist
About this role
- Greets salon visitors in a prompt, courteous manner.
- Administers health history and release forms to all new clients.
- Evaluates each client's health history by asking pertinent questions to identify any contraindications.
- Discusses the client's needs, expectations, and past massage experience prior to performing the service.
- Performs various types of massages utilizing different modalities, including but not limited to: Swedish, Deep Tissue, Sports, Therapeutic, Reflexology, and Shiatsu.
- Provides an educated explanation of massage techniques used.
- Offers suggestions for overall health and general well-being after the massage (e.g., stretches, yoga, or referral to a physician) while noting that a massage therapist cannot prescribe or diagnose a client's condition.
- Operates the salon computer accurately and properly books all appointments for all salon staff when scheduled and during the absence of the receptionist.
- Answers incoming phone calls promptly and in a polite, courteous manner when scheduled and during the absence of the receptionist.
- Maintains a professional, service-oriented demeanor.
- Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
- Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
- Performs other duties as required.
- Previous experience working in a hospitality environment is a plus.
- Specialty training in sports injuries is a plus.
- Certificate in Massage Therapy from a college, technical school, or accredited facility; and three to six months of related experience or training.

Must possess or obtain a current Massage Therapy License for the state of Arizona.
